GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. ♿️

The prices are a good deal if you know how much food they're feeding you (a LOT), and their food is super delicious! It's not "spicy" as in "hot" but as in "flavorful"—it's not Cajun food, but that's the closest comparison. I think the unfamiliar flavor can make it an acquired taste for some, but you won't mind acquiring it because once you've tried their food, you'll want to try all their dishes! New food is just the thing we need when we're sick of eating the same stuff all the time.

None of this is the reason for my rating, however. I've gotten around to leaving a review because they have life-changing customer service. And I mean that literally, without hyperbole—for some of us. Because some of us are disabled.

Disabled people often get the worst customer service because there's a lot of ignorance in the world and not a lot of patience. Dear Deaf Fayetteville: I have eaten at every restaurant on that street, and if you have to pick one, eat here. I didn't have to struggle to order, because they didn't force me to speak or lip-read! They immediately switched to text communication without a hassle. And they checked in with me like with other customers, asking how my food was and just mannerly small talk like that. It was really nice to NOT be ignored and overall treated like a bother to interact with...the second someone realizes you're disabled.

There are places where I'm a regular that don't show me the consideration I got here as a first-time customer. I would highly recommend them for that alone, but it surely helps that the food is very...

Ok, so I'll first start by addressing the rudeness of the young ladies who take orders and answer the phone. They always answer with just hello, like you're calling someone's home, then immediately placed on hold for extended periods without checking in. In person, I rarely feel like I'm welcomed there due to the extreme lack of acknowledgment.

Oh, then they yell when you ask them to repeat themselves. I almost sense entitlement, like I'm supposed to be there.

Secondly, if you ever want fresh fish, you gotta call when they open to place your order (even if you don't want it until 6 pm) or else when you call at 5 they'll tell you they don't know if they have any ( like serious can you check). The fresh fish (tilapia) is almost always never available.

Lastly, the other thing that I can not seem to understand is that they WILL NOT SELL SIDES of Jollof Rice or let you replace white for Jollof. That's right, even for a FEE! This would only help their business, you would think, being flexible for your clientele.

But they have the advantage, unfortunately, and they use it as a weapon as they are the only African Cuisine in the area. I hope this changes very soon, because I would love to give another place my money as I will never, ever, go here again! I stopped after my 3rd visit and was disappointed again with all I've said already, and I just can't support bad business or behavior! I don't care how good the food is. If the service is ugly, my...

I’ve never had this before but when I open the bag I’d good it smelt burnt then when I ate it it taste burnt as well. I called the store to ask if this is what it supposed to taste like. The girl on the phone said hello can u hold, hung up on me then called back minutes later. I told her it smelt and taste burnt I believe she got offended She then tasted it did not smell or taste burnt snd didn’t people taste it differently. To say the least I was not impressed with the soup or fufu. I probably will not purchase that particular dish again. Maybe I’ll try some fried fish or something idk. One thing I do know is I’m not in a rush to go back anytime soon. To add to this since the owner is saying I’m making up stories. I actually went back up to purchase fried plantains after I had ordered the #6. I was told I would have to make another purchase of at $5 in order to use my card again on top of the $20 purchase for the soup and fufu. And the goat meat was pretty much bone and skin. Little bit of meat/ food for a lot of money. I wish I never listened to my co worker about this recommendation and for the owner to say I was not being truthful about the burnt smell and taste is disgusting. I will spend my money elsewhere...

Beef Eugusi soup …. Unbelievably gross. It was not edible, it smelled burnt and tasted flat out burnt. I called to question if it was supposed to taste like that and lady who I spoke to said it’s supposed to taste burnt from the melon seeds. This tasted like charcoal. I feel like there’s no way it should have tasted the way it did. I had everyone at work try it and did not like it either. They agreed it tasted burnt. It was $25.00 for something I unfortunately had to toss out after I had one bite. I wanted to enjoy this meal so bad, I’m a foodie and not picky at all. My friend recommended Taste of West Africa and after she tired my food she could not believe how terrible and not edible it was. She said it should not taste like that. This place was closest to my job, so came here instead. This meal really was not a go for me, I typically do not leave bad reviews but I had to for this one. Photo’s shown are after myself and 3 other co workers tried it and as you can see didn’t make a dent , barely touched. The yam ball has grease from the egusi soup, from tasting it. Portion was great sadly it was not good.
