Blue Goose Cafe — Restaurant in Fennville

Had a brunch date with my husband at this place today and was not impressed. I try not to leave bad reviews because I’ve worked as a server for many years but a heads up is sometimes crucial to others. I’m very pregnant and was CRAVING biscuits and gravy. This place popped up in Google and had good reviews so we took a chance and went. He had been here once before and said the steak quesadilla he had was pretty good so I trusted his judgement. I got their B&G with toast and 2 over medium eggs, he got the same thing as last time. The biscuits were small, the gravy looked like it came from a can, and my toast was already cold and dry as all get out. I started eating and it was cold, just about tasteless and the toast tasted processed. My husband said his food didn’t taste right either and tried to share some with me and it just wasn’t good either. I only ate a little bit and had the server take it back. She was pleasant but it took a while to get her attention and she just stood behind the counter eating. She did take my food off the bill. My husband and I agreed we’re never coming back to this place again. To top it off, the quesadilla turned on my husband and he’s spent the rest of the day into the evening peeing out of his butt. I don’t like posting bad reviews but if more people did, we could have been spared breakfast here. As we walked in we were hit with a strong bleach cleaner smell. Even with that smell, the place still felt dirty. Lighting is poor which is made worse with the dark walls. The hard boiled eggs on my salad were wet on the outside. The red meat on my salad tasted microwaved which permeated into the cheese and the cheese was stuck to everything else. After I choked down the egg, I tried all the parts of the salad and just couldn’t eat it. I then sent the basically untouched salad back. The waitress didn’t question it or say a thing. I didn’t want to ruin the meal for the rest of the family; so I kept the issues to myself. Once we talked after the meal, the family agreed all the food was either very average or gross. The food is good thats the only reason I'm giving one star. The waitress my family had was absolutely horrible. We spent $60 there and she completely ignored us and made us feel unwelcome the entire time. She had a sour look on her face and after she finally took our order brought our bill with our dinner like she was rushing us to get out and then never came back to check on us. Two of us needed refills and nothing. When we did manage to flag her down she gave us a dirty look and asked if we needed boxes. When we said no we'd like a refill we received another dirty look and she seemed inconvenienced that we even asked.
