So this is like the only Taco place in the Island has many good reviews for those who have no idea what good food quality service is. I was brought to this place because of the reviews and pictures seemed like a good place to being my family. We arrive on Sunday at 7:55pm did not know they closed at 9pm. Walked in was not greeted either way walked up to the host station and I was asked how many I said four… two adults and two children the you g lady says to me “I can put you on the list but there is a 30 minute wait and we close at 9pm.” I say well that should be enough time to order we will look at a menu meanwhile we wait. Her response is “well I can’t promise you we will get to your table and we don’t cook after 9pm our kitchen closes at exactly 9pm.” I say “okay so you mean I’m going to wait to be seated and your saying your not sure the waitress/waiter will get to my table you. Can you answer this question are you even still putting people on the list or are you all done for the night?” She said to me “ma’am what I am saying is that I can’t promise we will get to you and be able to serve you.” I said thank you have a great night. I come back Tuesday afternoon for Taco Tuesday well all I will say is Poor service the waitress forgot our whole order forgot the lettuce and cheese on the tacos when they did finally come the meat looked like it was from two days before. To top it off I was doubled charged for add ons my daughters kid meal started at 6.99 I finished paying 12.99 because she wanted lettuce and cheese instead of onion and cilantro. To say the food was cold and it was not of top quality for a lunch to cost 60.00 on a Taco Tuesday where they advertise 2.99 tacos it was just sad. So if it’s me rating them I definitely give them 2/3 stars only because of...

The service was terrible. The food was terrible and the wait was ridiculous. My daughter and son-in-law both ordered two different types of burritos. They were supposed to come with the queso and sour cream inside. They (Daughter and son-in-law ) separated the burritos, because there was no sour cream or queso to be found. Spoke to the waitress about it, so she sent out Two orders of queso and two orders of sour cream in the little tiny cups. The wait time for this was probably 10 to 15 minutes just to bring those out the food by then was cold. Then asked the waitress for three to go boxes and lids for , the sour cream and queso. Another 10 minute went by. When she finally came, she said, is there anything else? We said yes we need the bill. She brought out the bill and on the bill was the sour cream and queso that was supposed to be inside the burritos . So then we asked for a manager. The manager argued about what was supposed to be on the food when it clearly states what is supposed to be in the food on the menu. The manager then said that they put so little in there sometimes it’s missed! My granddaughter had chicken strips with fries and said that the chicken was terrible and did not eat it. I had a gordita and could not eat the whatever it was that they put the chicken in , the complete wait staff, rude and condescending. It will be a very long time before we ever go back! Oh, I forgot to say there was nobody in there. It was 7 o’clock at night so there’s absolutely no reason for them to take so long with the food. We were never asked if we needed anything else to drink. It was just a very bad experience. Check your food because they’ll charge you for something that’s not there, i.e. queso and sour cream. Then when you ask for it they...

Cantina Louie is my go-to lunch / dinner restaurant. They have a pretty large Mexican menu which is good because you can easily get something different every time.

The quality of the food varies depending on the day, but is still good regardless. I usually get the skirt steak fajita and it comes with more food that I know what to do with. If you want your fajitas to come out sizzling, make a change to it (like removing onions or removing tomatoes) or you are more likely to have food that has been sitting in the kitchen for a while.

BEWARE OF THE QUESO DIP. It tastes wonderful, but servers tend to ask if you want any before you see the price. It costs 8 dollars to add it on, so if you are trying to save a little money, say no to the queso when they offer it because it isn't free.

The service can vary depending on who is working. I have experienced a variety of attitudes from the servers, food runners, and hosts.

IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO EAT!!! There is an outdoor play area with tiny mini golf and lots of other children to play with. It is even illuminated with aesthetic string lights so they can play if the sun is down. You can eat outside if you would rather be closer to them, or inside watching them from a nearly one way glass. If you don't have children, don't worry, the play area is noninvasive and should not put a damper on your experience.

Speaking of inside, the atmosphere is wonderful. The entire interior is decorated in vibrant skeleton cantina theme and fun aesthetic lighting.

Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant to all Mexican food enjoyers. It has a large menu, decent food, mostly friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere, and a place for children to play that is noninvasive to...

Hmmmm. Where to start..... Its a nice cool breezy day! We get a (no name) server who possesses no memory. Our table ordered 2 Sprites & 1 Horchata and appetizers. Waiter brings ice teas....wait.....Finally drinks arrive. Apps arrives. No silver. staff bolts .... Wait.........still no silverware. 5mins later. 2 staff members later(they must have specific jobs as one told me I had to get the waiter.), finally our Waiter. Sorry, he said, seeming too busy. Food ordered!(another table that came in just after us, ate apps and drank multiple beverages, were now leaving. They probably would give their experience a high rating.) Food comes, incomplete. I wait to eat my food until my wife and sons request had been fulfilled.(all food is cold now.) Now, as I stated in the opening sentence, its cool and breezy. The oscillating fans kick on! Full Blast! Napkins and stuff starts flying. (Hot foods real good, real cold........) A desert we did not order, came to our table, as a shot of liquor also arrived....... Declined both. Hmmmm. Maybe 2 ⭐'s too many. The rice and grilled Jalepeño was outstanding......... Note the cheap dinner knife for the jerkied carne asada. My son gave me a new Swiss Army knife. Thanks son, I can cut my onion now. We left a note on the receipt as we start at 20 percent tip and go up or down. The tip we left was a generous 10 percent. First time I can EVER remember going down on a tip. If the back of the house messes up, we won't penalize the waitstaff. This was both. I hope I got here on a off day. I heard great things. I cannot concure and I am saddened.

Never disappoints! Ever since our first visit nearly 2 years ago, we can’t get enough Cantina!!!! Someone in our family eats here at least 4-5 times a month. The lively atmosphere and amazing food have us completely addicted! The Queso Dip appetizer is an absolute no brain-er! It’s a HUGE portion and AMAZING. My son always orders the Chicken Quesadilla... and according to him (picky eater), it’s cooked to perfection! My favorite dish would have to be the Shrimp Chimichanga....Unbelievable! Crispy fried flour tortilla, stuffed with grilled shrimp, green peppers & onions and topped with yummy red sauce and queso. Literally just about the best thing I’ve ever eaten! Now, if you can.... try to go on a Sunday. Because on Sundays ... ONLY Sundays... they make the most delicious homemade Tamales. They come served in the corn husk... and are absolutely to die for!!!!! It’s almost a guarantee that whenever we eat here, my son is bringing along 1,2 or even 3 of his teenage friends. With several appetizers, a cocktail or 2, entrees and sometimes dessert...... our bill has never been over $100!!!! You can’t beat the food, atmosphere AND value!

I had high expectations after hearing so many positive things about this restaurant chain, but my visit was unfortunately disappointing. The good: the chips and salsa were excellent, the marsh view was beautiful, and our waiter delivered outstanding service — friendly, attentive, and professional. The bad: the food did not live up to the reputation. The Tamarindo drink was extremely diluted — more like sweetened brown water than a real tamarind beverage. My husband and I tried both types of enchiladas (green and red), and neither impressed. The refried beans had an off, almost seafood-like flavor, and the enchiladas were simply rolled tortillas with sauce on top — not fried, baked, or broiled as true enchiladas should be (have several Mexican friends) It’s disappointing, because the place itself has a great atmosphere and could be perfect for gatherings, such as our upcoming Bday celebration; but the food quality doesn’t match the setting or service. Maybe it was an off day, but I wouldn’t return unless I get invited without another choice.
