Girls lunch out first time going to the Back Porch. Of course we sat on the back porch beautiful day wind blowing by a little marsh area. Miranda was our server and she was fantastic! She ran through the menu since it was our first time her favorite and what was more popular with the customers. Being foodie of course the three of us ladies do what we normally do order something different and share. We started off with appetizers we got the honey cornbread, sausage dip and the brussel sprouts. The cornbread with white cake nice and fresh sausage dip so rich and lots of meat, and the brussel sprouts crispy, very flavorful with the pickled onions on top. Entrees were the brisket macaroni and cheese, two of the ladies got that and the brisket stuff baked potato which I got. The brisket macaroni and cheese was so large it was enough for two people. Lots of juicy brisket baked in the macaroni and cheese with barbecue sauce layered at the bottom the girls were raving! My baked potato did not disappoint it was a good go to when I lived in Texas and you got a stuffed baked potato it had so much brisket and bacon and cheese and they did not skip on having the butter on the side and the sour cream and I think I used almost every pat of butter on my baked potato I could not finish it but thoroughly enjoyed! Yes we stayed for desserts one friend got some more honey cornbread the other friend got the blueberry peach cobbler alamode, I got the peach cheesecake. Being a food service manager and a baker myself a cheesecake was so creamy and there was peaches inside the bed inside the cheesecake with a layer of peach temple on top but the peach whipped cream really topped it off because the flavor was there throughout the whole eating experience I ate it all didn't take it home I could not let my whipped cream melt in the sun. The blueberry peach cobbler was wonderful most cobblers are so sweet and packed with sugar but this was not sweet even with the vanilla bean ice cream was awesome. All in all we were so excited when we got our food we didn't get pictures of everything because we couldn't wait to dig in. The value of our meals were most definitely worth it for the amount of food that we got yes we took home. On our way out we ran into one of the cooks JR. I several pats on the back and gave him a verbal review. You can tell that the food was not Frozen and just come in and you throw on it in the stove or oven or grill, they were made in That's that is very rare in most restaurants nowadays....

Stopped in for a late lunch on a rainy Sunday. I ordered brisket and ribs with okra and sweet potato fries. My spouse ordered nearly the same, only he ordered potato salad, regular fries, & pulled pork. The restaurant wasn’t busy however, we waited a very long time to receive our food. A catering order was in the works which delayed our lunch, but 2 things: 1 our server was OUTSTANDING! She is truly the epitome of what a great server looks like, friendly, relaxed, but on point in every way! She didn’t just apologize, but explained the situation and brought us out a basket full of cornbread, so we had something to nibble on while we waited. It was not your every day cornbread, but fluffy, succulent and sweet. 2. The food made up for the long wait. It is hands down the best bbq I’ve ever had! I tried my husband’s potato salad and nearly fell out of the booth. When I told our server that I regretted not ordering it, she brought a bowl of it out to me…no charge! Then the batter on the okra was seasoned, flavorful and not overly breaded. The fries were dusted with a cinnamon sugar and lastly, the bbq was smoked to perfection! No comparison, the best bbq ever! I cannot praise this restaurant enough & can’t...

Came in with my father thinking the place had been sold and had new management. When i walked in and saw two tables covered in dirty dishes, no hostess, and one server, i knew it was the same ramshackle place it ever was. Sat down and waited 10 minutes to be seen by a server with only two tables in the restaurant, ordered a dina dip and some hush puppies alongside my fathers chicken and waffles. Was told 15 minutes of waiting later the kitchen had no brisket for my sandwich, politely declined a pulled pork substitution and opted not to eat (i knew it was Captain jacks 2.0 and the food would most likely be mediocre). Waited another 40 minutes for my fathers chicken and waffles. At past an hour in the restaurant with (now) 2 other tables my exceptionally patient father called it and we got zaxbys and went to his house to watch Landman. Let it be clear that this is not a new restaurant, it's still Captain Jacks. They gave it a coat of paint because they know nobody liked Captain Jacks and they fooled us. Don't be fooled like we were, just avoid this spot. So long as the current management stays in charge this place will never be an...

Walked in and were immediately greeted by a hostess. Restaurant was clean and had a nice view of the marsh on the back patio. We were sat in a booth on the inside. We were not greated by a server for over ten minutes. They were not busy at all to be waiting that long. My wife and I ordered the trio which came with three meats. We got the pulled pork, beef brisket, and St Lous ribs. The pulled pork was extremely dry and appeared to have been reheated as all the grease and oil was on the bottom of the dish it came in. The brisket was almost flavorless and pale. The ribs were dry as the pulled pork, to the point where I had to use a knife to cut the ribs apart. The corn bread was about the only good thing we had. The server never came and checked on us. When he did come back he looked at our almost untouched food and asked if we wanted a box. My wife stated the food was dry. The served said "oh" grabbed our food tray and came back with the check.

Decided to give this place a try with there rebrand "The back porch" we went at about 4:30 on a Saturday it was not very busy at all the food was pretty good the pork was pretty dry but we do like there bbq but the service and drinks were pretty pitiful, there were maybe 5 tables in the restaurant in total and unfortunately our server Hanna m only came to our table maybe 5 times we also had 4 cocktails and not a single one had a garnish then we waited over 25 minutes for a margarita with no limes and all we got was a sorry when i expressed I was upset it wasn't acknowledged and she didn't really seem to care we probably won't be eating here again also we spent over $100 for 2 people and were treated poorly.
