The picture shows a*monte cristo It should’ve labeled- French toast sandwich. A monte cristo has 3 meat, this one had 2… The waitress listened to me describe what the sandwich was- I’ve had one before- never intervened to correct me. The French toast was bland, it took all the syrup i had to try and make it sweet enough, i should’ve grabbed the strawberry jelly packs. The wings i got (6 pieces)- cost me 9$! When I looked at the rest of the menu, that price seemed wildly disproportionate; for two dollars more I could get three eggs, a steak and toast and potatoes? I’m used to my wings costing around 4 to $5.00 dollars, $6 is expensive but 9 , and I didn’t even get my Texas toast?? Just to be clear at ate my food because I’m not the type of person to complain and make a fuss like that but I did take very good mental note and I will not be back save your money. Ferndale is booming with good places to eat. this just isn’t one of them .

We ordered from Earl's every weekend since the covid measures began in March (so...at least 7 consecutive weeks). I've gotten a chicken avocado salad every time and loved it. The medium size is PLENTY, even for a salad monster like me, and the price is amazing considering how generous they are with the avocado. The grilled chicken is always juicy and warm, and everything tastes fresh. My husband has gotten a variety of skillets and salads and liked the country skillet most by far. The only things keeping me from giving 5 stars are a) we haven't seen one person at their establishment wearing masks or gloves even after it became required, and b) they're often grumpy when we go to pick up. For these reasons, we didn't go back this weekend and have found other local diners to support that have recently reopened. That being said, if you're looking for a cheap, satisfying salad, try the chicken avocado!

All star ratings are for the bathroom, not the establishment. Earl's gets an extra star simply because they are one of the few places that will make things like a Cheese Steak or Reuben Omlete. The bathroom, unfortunately, is right off the dining room and right next to the kitchen. It's nice enough, but its a one person bathroom with way too close proximity to everyone else. There is no hiding sound or smell, and a line could easily form on a busy day. The food was great, but I might keep the bathroom to #1s if you can.

Went here the other day on a whim. The food was good, but the waitstaff needs much improvement! I sat at the counter (as I was alone) the only waitress was complaining the entire time about having to deal with customers. She kept complaining about a customer that ruffled her feathers. Her attitude was so offensive, I was leery of asking for a coffee refill. The restaurant was basically empty, and her incessant complaining of said customer was heard throughout the entire place. The food was good, and the portions were hearty. I would have delivered 5 stars on this review, had it not been for the angry waitress making everyone feel like they were bothering her to do the job she signed up for. PRO TIP: If you're unhappy dealing with the public.....get out of...
