TL;DR: spend your money here. You won’t be disappointed. Read on…
Stopped by for a solo dinner. Greeted and seated right away. The ambiance was nice. Videos of Nepal and the Himalayan region playing on the TVs. Served water, chickpea cracker, and mild/medium/hot sauces/chutney. Delicious! Started with an order of chicken pakora. Really tasty. Light, fried batter and lightly seasoned on a bed of cabbage and onion. It was so good!
Ordered the masala chai. It’s a hot beverage and, embarrassingly, I asked if it included masala seasoning (which sounded intriguing and kinda good), but it didn’t include any masala seasoning. That being said, it was really good! The owner brought sweeteners, but after tasting it first, decided it really didn’t need it. The flavor was light and milky. Not too strong. Really pleasant.
Ordered the chicken madras. It came with Basmati rice. The menu says “traditionally a very hot dish”. My mouth watered. It was a bright, light flavor and not heavy at all. I like spice and it was a little lacking there, but the spice was good and not overpowering. The whole dish seemed balanced. Not one particular spice or flavor overpowered any other flavor of the dish. I was pleasantly surprised. The dish really didn’t need a blaze of spice. I’d definitely get it again.
I topped the meal off with an order of garlic cheese naan (not on the menu, I asked for it and they made it for me). It was light and delicate with a hint of garlic. The flavor was pretty spot on
So much to try on the menu. Next time I’m going to try the chicken tikka masala and chicken or shrimp biryani. Who knows what I’ll try after that.
The whole meal was a real balance of flavors and spice. I left with my mouth feeling like it had experienced something special.
If you know this location, you know that it’s been many things over the years. I really think this is a winner. Do yourself a favor, do them a favor (they’re really from Nepal), and go spend your money there. You won’t be disappointed. Keep them in business. Firestone needs to keep them...
Read moreEDIT after a couple years: Some time has passed decided to give them another shot....AND wish I didn't. They at least got the takeout this time. Everything showed up. It was terrible. I fail to see how this place has such a high rating on google. This has been some of the WORST Indian food I've ever had. First the good: The chicken pakora was actually pretty good. The tandoori chicken looked burnt but was actually good as well. My kid enjoyed the meat samosa. I thought they were gross. Now the bad: The garlic naan tasted like garbage. It was flimsy and the garlic on it was burnt and disgusting. The chicken tikka masala was dry as a bone and tasted like crap. I got one of their Everst mix grill. They gave a fish and shrimp thing. Everything was overcooked. Fish was disgusting and the shrimp was just okay. Very overcooked. It was a huge disappointment. I'm starting to think all the positive reviews are fake or people just do not know what good Indian food is. Avoid this dry, overcooked garbage food.
Do not order on their website. They never Received my order. I never got the delivery. I first called about my order and was hung up on. Then I decided to call back. No answer. Okay its a busy Friday night let it slide. So I drive over. They state they never got my order. I showed them the order and that the money was taken out of my account. I was told to sit and wait. I did after about 20-30 min with no communication or update I decided to ask what was going on. I again showed them that They got paid but was told I dont know we never got your order. I decided at this point to stop payment and leave. I got no communication from them, or it could have been a language barrier. It would have just been nice to say oh we will get you your order, But I didnt even get that confirmation from them other than to take a seat? The whole situation was confusing; I was frustrated at this...
Read moreReally great food and the naan bread is amazing. The food bumped up my review from 3 stars to 4, because service was ROUGH. We expect service to be challenging for any new restaurant in this area, but it definitely exceeded what we anticipated. To be clear however, the guys were working their butts off running around trying to make sure everyone was taken care of. One table got pretty nasty with the employees, which pulled attention away from all the other customers and really threw everything off for the waitstaff. This table ended up leaving mid-meal, which is another reason I’m rating 4 stars because no one should ever be treated the way this customer decided to treat the staff. I’m leaving details in this review so the owners know what to work on: Our entire dinner took well over 90 minutes, and we didn’t receive our appetizer until 45 minutes after we were first seated. We then received one of two entrees we ordered and the entree they set down wasn’t something we ordered. Within a few minutes of bringing it to their attention, they brought us our correct entrees, however we were missing our naan bread. It took an additional 10+ minutes to get our plain naan bread and by then my food was cold and my spouse had eaten all his so he wasn’t able to enjoy the naan with his entree. We had to ask for to go containers and our check after sitting and waiting 15+ additional minutes once we had finished our meal. By this time, we had been here 90 minutes. We will absolutely, definitely be back but will go during non peak times until they’re able to work out...
