I just ate at Passione with a large group of 15 people. Passione is a fairly small restaurant with a small staff, so I realize that it is difficult to serve such a large group. Naturally all but one couple were doing individual checks. The manager (I assume he was the manager) explained that they would take all of the orders and then break them down at the end on what we ordered and pay accordingly. No problem. Now I researched their website beforehand to make ordering easier when there and thus knew what I wanted to order. So, I ordered a pizza, which all are 12" and a bottle of Chianti wine. Now, the service was good and the food was good. I think everyone in our group would agree. I'll rate those at 4-5. Here is the problem. On their website the pizza cost with the additional topping I ordered was to be $18 and the wine was to be $36. This is pretty expensive at those prices, but the pizza is good as noted. So when making payment I wasn't given an itemized check only the handheld payment device with the tip screen on it. They were automatically charging 20% tip due to our group. That is not unusual, but I'll comment more below. I clicked to send the receipt to my email address. When I got home and looked at the receipt it was $90.05 for a 12" pizza and an average bottle of wine. They also charged me for the incorrect wine at a higher price, a Cabernet Sauvignon for $48. I called the restaurant about the bill. I told them about the incorrect wine and asked the price of the wine I ordered. The Chianti was now $44 and the pizza was now $21. Now, I accept that it is my fault for not recognizing what the prices for each item were on the menu and not asking for the detailed check. However, the prices are out of line in my opinion and I also have a problem of automatically charging 20% tip including the wine when it is already marked up a minimum of 100% in restaurants (i.e. that Cabernet they charged me is about $18 in stores. So, in summary, their food is good and the service is good, but in my opinion their prices are out of line. I'm displeased that their website is not kept up to date. The pizzas are made in a wood fired oven. If you are OK with their prices, then use your judgement, but I cannot recommend Passione based on...
Read moreA Slice of Heaven Passione Delivers a Perfect date Night Experience From the moment we walked in on a bustling Friday night, Passione captivated us. Despite the crowd, we were seated within a mere 30 minutes, a testament to the efficient and welcoming staff. The atmosphere was immediately striking – a perfect blend of comfort and romance, radiating good vibes that set the stage We started with the garlic bread, For our main course, we opted for a Detroit-style pizza and a tomato pie, a decision that proved to be inspired. The tomato pie was the star of the show. The sauce, a delightful balance of rich tomato flavor with a subtle tang, perfectly complemented the wood-fired crust. It wasn't overpowering, but rather a harmonious blend of flavors that elevated the entire pie. The crust and undercarriage were nothing short of perfection: crisp, light, and expertly baked. This is where Passione truly shines – the mastery of the wood-fired oven is evident in every bite. While the Detroit-style pizza was also enjoyable, the tomato pie's simplicity and execution truly stole the show. Beyond the exceptional food, the service was impeccable. A special shoutout to Victor and the entire staff, whose attentiveness and warmth contributed significantly to our positive experience. Passione exceeded our expectations in every way. From the inviting ambiance to the delectable food and outstanding service. Do yourself a favor and visit. You will not be...
Read moreAmazing food! This is the second time we have come here and it has been great both times. Last time we got the Speciale and the salad with the pear in it. It was amazing, I love their tomato sauce and homemade sausage. This time we got the Bomb and the same salad (Bianca, my boyfriend just looked it up 😂). The bomb has halved meatballs on it, so good. The music from the bar next door can get loud, but the ambiance is still nice and the servers are very prompt and friendly. We will be back 😏 Update: We came back and got the Speciale again and the baked ricotta dip. The Speciale wasn't quite as good as last time but we still enjoyed the dinner a lot. The dip is in the picture. Update 2: we came back and this time we brought friends! This was a great choice as it meant we got to try more pizzas! They ordered the Diavolo and Hawaiian and we got the Jimmy with Basil. I absolutely loved the Jimmy, and thought both the Diavolo and Hawaiian were great. My boyfriend preferred the Diavolo and thought the Hawaiian was kind of boring but I do not agree. Unfortunately, this visit was marred by the fact that when our check came, all the pizzas were more expensive than the menu showed. We got it corrected by the server, but were told that the menus are old and the more expensive prices are the new prices. The price wasn't so much the issue as the awkwardness over the mismatch between the menu and the price on the check. I hope they...
