Came here after church with church friends. Tried the clear soup this time and it was pretty good though a tad salty, it was mostly a soy sauce based broth with some mushrooms and onion. It was nice to try but next time will still opt for the Miso soup.
I got the seaweed salad, black pepper tuna and dragon ball for apetizer. They were all decent. I ordered my rounds of all 8 sashimi types and also the eel/unagi nigiri. I would say that compared to Watami or the Sushi Club in Avon, the fish and sushi quality is lower here. First of all, none of the fish felt particularly fresh. Red snapper had a strong fishy taste like it was sitting around for a while. White tuna had a bit of a sour taste. Salmon was okay, no fishy taste but also no popping freshness. Mackerel was the same story, not that appetizing. The eel/unagi tasted sour as well, I don't know if it's the sushi rice that they are using or what but I didn't taste this at Sushi Club in Avon nor at Watami in Broad Ripple. The rolls were overall disappointing, just lacked freshness overall. I thought that the Tiffany roll was interesting, as it had a strong cilantro and vegetable taste. I was too full for ice cream and it was extra but my friend really wanted it so he got it for the group to share. For $3.50, it was a big bowl with two big scoops and the green tea ice cream was pretty good. My friends hated it but I thought it was interested and creative. The service seemed better here compared to Avon though perhaps it was because this was a Sunday and the restaurant was relatively busy and filled, and there were 3-4 waitresses working whereas last time on a weekday, there was only one waitress working. Never say never but overall I think I am done with Sushi Club for now. As a side note, one of my friends ordered a la carte and had potstickers and the teriyaki chicken combo and...
Read moreEdit: came again with our 6 year old niece. She loves the miso soup (nice and hot this time) and we requested white rice to put in it. She had 3 bowls of soup, shrimp tempura, chicken Tempura, teriyaki shrimp, chicken lo mein. I would suggest these for kids. Our friend loved the mango salad, tastes very fresh. Avocado salad always my favorite- order 2 for me from the get go. We always order Edamame, and Seaweed Salad.
*go to rolls: Speedway roll, Dragon roll, Rainbow roll (we request with no eel sauce: too sweet for us; we end up scraping off every time)
Overall, our party of 5 had a great experience for dinner.
First and foremost,, service was great! That's very important to us.
We loved the salad with fresh slices of avocados on top. (The miso soup wasn't temperature hot though: 2016)
We tried shrimp tempura; not homemade tasting but for an all- you- can eat service pretty good . Edamame was good, too.
Specialty rolls were great! Had to request them to leave the eel sauce off many of them. That is too sweet for me and hides the taste of the rolls in my humble opinion.
Sashimi from the first order sheet was a little small but the second time were a nice size.
We...
Read moreI simply cannot say enough good things about the Fishers Sushi Club location. The location is my absolute favorite go-to sushi restaurant and the fact that it is all you can eat makes it even better.
My 10-year old twins have begun to enjoy sushi thanks to this restaurant and it's often one of their first requests when we ask where they want to eat.
The menu itself offers a good variety of appetizers, hot food, sushi, sashimi and kids items. The chefs do a great job on their presentation and are quite quick with refill orders. Compared to other all-you-can eat sushi restaurants you get nice pieces of seafood and not paper thin slices on a bed of rice.
The servers are friendly and attentive.
The restaurant décor is a little meh, but let's be honest, I'd eat good sushi in a cardboard box before I'd eat bad sushi in the most elegant...
