I recently had the pleasure of visiting your establishment for lunch with a fellow IT partner. I am from Chicago. Roy, the owner, is fantastic, and the atmosphere of the place is wonderfully welcoming. The food was outstanding! I enjoyed a homemade "Brunswick Stew," a delicious sandwich, and a Chicago hot dog that truly lived up to its reputation. Although a traditional Chicago hot dog doesn’t include ketchup, it was still excellent. Overall, the combination of a cozy setting, excellent ownership, and fantastic food makes this place unbeatable in terms of value. I highly recommend it! Good luck Roy and I hope to be back soon!

I gravitate to this eatery for lunch whenever I can. There is so much to like about the location, ambience, nostalgia, food, and service. Sitting outside on an open air porch amongst the surrounding greenery is wonderful. The only road noise is from St John and can't hear any traffic from HVL Rd. The homemade potato salad and pickles are a treat. Where else can one get a Ruben sandwich, side of potato salad and pickles, and drink for under $10. The food is served on plates with silverware. Carrot cake is a nice dessert to share. Left this time with a jar of pickles.

Stopped in for a quick bite and had the place to ourselves. It was like visiting family, probably better than some.... I don't think anyone in my family can make homemade pickles like the ones we had with our hot dogs. Attentive service, delicious food, yummy ice cream.... Good old fashioned quality care. We are lucky to have a place like this in our community. Visit often, we all need more ice cream in our lives!

We walked in here on mother's day and we were the only people in there. The lady behind the ice cream counter didn't even greet us. As we approached her she walks to the back to the kitchen and flat out ignored us. We stood there for a while and looked at the ice creams and waited for her to return. After a whille we walked through the house and looked to see if we could find someone to help us we found her. She seemed really annoyed as we asked her for a menu. She just replied with the family is out of town and there is no one in the kitchen and walked away. I also had to use the bathroom and man that sink was so nasty. The house itself is very cluttered and doesn't seem to be the cleanest. I wonder if the health department even goes there. BY THE WAY! THE GIRL WORKING THERE WAS NOT IN THE RESTROOM LIKE THE OWNER REPLIED. SHE WAS STANDING RIGH BEHIND THE ICE CREAM COUNTER WHEN WE WALKED IN, WE APPROACHED HER AND SHE IGNORED US AND...

I have been wanting to try baabals for a long time I am now kicking myself in the butt (which in itself is something because I have no legs) for not trying it sooner!! Right off the bat I can tell the potato salad was homemade the pickles were homemade and that sauerkraut was the most authentic sauerkraut I've had since growing up on the military base in Germany. The Rubin was phenomenal the bread is what really made it but the corned beef could have been cut a little thinner, other than that I had no complaints. The server was amazing and proud 🤗 of the food it showed and I left with a smile on my face and a full belly 😊 because of that. And finally to quote a famous line from a movie...

May 26/24 I and my family went there today and an lady attended us. My wife ordered a caramel macchiato. The lady started putting the ingredients in the blender and started blending. Then she asked what my children would like. They asked for ice cream. Then she asked me what they wanted. I told her I wanted a caramel macchiato, she got upset and he went and stopped the blender and I just added a little more ice cream when I saw that she was going to take out two glasses from there. I told her that that wasn't right but he ignored me when we left there we realized that it had no flavor it was not done well but in the end I will not return bad customer...
