Very disappointed at our treatment last Wednesday. One of us in a wheel chair and we were sat in the area to the right in the back by the kitchen . #1 I feel we were sat there because one of us was in a wheel chair and if all things music was blasting out of the kitchen. #2 a employee on break was sitting at a table to the left of us playing loud music on his phone as if we were not even there. #3 two employees, one on break and the other our waitress were sitting to our right taking a break and eating and he was blasting music on his phone The three different music's blasting on us as we sat and tried to converse were more than we could stand. I finally asked to be moved and the waitress acted offended because she had to get up from her seat and table eating, and deal with me . I said just cancel our orders and she jumped at the chance. I was but and angry .I ask to speak to the manager. Left shocked that I got a off handed 'sorry'. I don't know why she is a manager but I owned a restaurant at one time. #1 never let a customer leave angry . You apologize for their inconvenience and move them to another table. You at least offer them something to make them comfortable while they wait for their food. Not shrug your shoulders and look towards the door as if to show them the way out. I'm disgusted and I will continue to blog about the Rice Box in Florence Alabama. I truly believe if one of us had not been crippled we would have been treated better .But we pay like everyone else .The Rice Box should be deeply ashamed of the treatment of a customer and the actions of their staff...
Read moreThe service, environment, food, and pricing were all more than ideal here. The food was brought out fast and the server was funny and attentive. The environmental is themed incredibly, they had led lights that worked incredibly well with the textured walls to give an incredible effect and the white walls went so well with the black ceiling providing for a very cozy and comfortable space. The tables are more well lit than most other dine-in restaurants and the restaurant was cleaner than I expected a strip mall Chinese/Japanese restaurant to be. The food came out so fast and the menu was very large and had anything I could want from here since this is a hibachi/japenese/Chinese restaurant so they have it all it seems. The food was very good and I left full, which isn't always the case when you go somewhere for the express purpose of eating sushi. Yumm Thai sushi and bar in downtown Florence has similar food but except over twice as expensive with no noticeable difference in quality, while rice box is high quality and gives you great value for your purchases. I spent 9 dollars total on food including tax, I bought two sushi rolls, which came with a great salad and a mid mido soup. Their sushi is so savory and it's textured very well, it's significantly better than Publix sushi in terms of texture and flavor profile. Read moreI had food that was not edible last year, although I ate there several years ago and no problems, I noticed my breaded wings were not fit to eat, I ordered 2 different type of wings the first were ok, but the second batch of breaded wings were so inedible I felt the need to tell my friendly server, he handled it as far as he could go and he said I will get the manager to take the wings off if she wants too...then I was puzzled...she came and asked what was the problem I told her my wings were not edible, and I said the first wings were fine but please remove these and take off my ticket, I also had wontons they were good but....unbeknownst to me, SHE proceeded to go off on me creating a scene, saying "You only one complain, no one else cimplain" I said mam calm down, said, "You waste my food" I said mam would you prefer I had eaten unfit wings, she then walks away steady talking out loud, "You waste my food, YOU waste my food" so I got up and paid for everything except the wings that were unfit, and just because she did that it didn't stop me from tipping my server, I even tried to reason with her, by LAUGHING it off, saying I guess I got a bad bunch, she said "No bad batch, my food fresh, YOU only one complain" so ok I noted to myself never coming back now!
