The authentic tacos are delislcious . I recommend going on taco Tuesday tacos are cheaper think only $1.79 that way when you eat several you still get out cheap but, I recommend going also on off hours 2:00-2:30 it's not crowded the owners and staff are extremely friendly. I enjoy going just to see them (plus good excellent ). I got 1-3 times a week. Best authentic tacos I've found in North Alabama and I've lived in huntsville, Scottsboro and Athens. This is best around.Go say hi to owner for me. Tell him it's his Friday regular, enjoy and eat a taco for me. They also have a wonderful sweet drink horchata, great for hot day or dessert to go. I've stopped in just for this refreshing drink... yummy (another authentic Mexican drink) enjoy have a big sip for me. If not sure ask for sample I promise you won't be disappointed... Update still addicted to authentic tacos but tonight 1/28/2022 had there Mexican cheese burger (again) I've added pictures. I definitely over ate. This was by far the best in town. I highly recommend it the fries was cooked perfect and the jalapeno I'm not sure we're they get them but, it was delicious very hot but complimented the cheese burger. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. I can't even begin to describe the owners the hospitality is like coming home to family. If you haven't been here I guarantee once you do you'll never go to another Mexican...
Read moreThe food and service are above par. The atmosphere is great as the staff seem glad you’ve chosen to patronize the restaurant, the dinning area is well lit and the decor is bright. No cushions on the booths might be a negative for some, however for me this is great, (as the cushions in the restaurants in town, range from: This will do - to a sink hole that will swallow a full grown adult) The prices are fantastic. They are like the pre-CoVid prices. ie Two lunch entrées, small cheese dip, two waters, and a generous tip (30%) all for $30.00 with the bonus of a to-go box containing a full meal. I’ve had the lunch fajitas (chicken) lunch fajita, taco salad (chicken) , and the lunch street tacos (chicken) all were excellent. They have Salsa Verde (green salsa) upon request be careful if you have a sensitive mouth, as it’s a little on the hot side, which is terrific to me. The red salsa is good, as it appears to be fresh made. The chips are about average. The enhancement I would recommend would be to serve the first basket of chips hot. Understand that most Mexican restaurants serve the first basket cold as they have been prepared in advance so they can reach the table quickly. The parking is a little tricky at first, however when you learn where to turn it...
Read moreOnce was great until they grew and moved into the large building . Now the food seems to be the least of priorities now that they have alcohol sales . I do not know the details of the kitchen staff but it hasn’t been good since they now have cooks that do not have the same vested in the business the owner had when it was a small place with seating for maybe 6 at which time it was the best place in town to eat . Over the last two years I have gone back multiple times thinking maybe it was just a bad day for them or maybe it was 3/16/23 Decided to go back for another shot after talking to some friends and found out the owner was back overseeing the kitchen and it was 100 percent true, I didn’t see him but the food was how it used to be which was 10/10. I’m glad they are back to how they used to be because this was always my favorite place with the best food and best staff in town.
just me but after many many second chances I’d say if you want great service go here if you want good food go somewhere else . I really like the owner and the original staff but it’s time to cut ties hurt feelings or not , just being honest to them and the people that read my reviews . I wish this place the Best Buy for me tonight was my last 27th...
