Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Florence

After talking about Rita's "wooder ice" for a few hours, decided to Google locations close to me. I was heartbroken to find out the ones near me (in NC) closed down. Being a Philly implant in the south sucks sometimes when you want a little taste of home and can't find it anywhere!

I took a 2 hour drive (4 hrs total) to this location just to get some, and it was SO WORTH IT!! Not only did we have a cool road trip, but the staff was nothing less than AMAZING! Despite being busy and me ordering a large amount to take home, no one ever got annoyed or stopped smiling once! I was able to bring some home to my kids and they were ecstatic 🥰

Rita's Italian Ice is AWESOME!!!! Such a great treat to have, especially during the SC summer heat!! Family owned and operated business, with such friendly and nice staff. One time the owner gave a little girl another ice cream cone for free because she accidentally dropped hers on the sidewalk and to me that is the definition of great customer service! My family was having an event that we needed 6 buckets of Rita's Ice. Mr. James made sure that the ice was frozen hard enough to make it about 45 mins away from Florence. He also gave tips on what to do to keep it frozen until we were ready to serve. My family really enjoyed those flavors that we purchased the kids and adults.
