First, this AL'S emailed me to RSVP for today's Ancient beer tasting event. I did RSVP'd and this isn't my closest one. I even called before going and asked if event was still on. Yes. They seated us behind the bar, we ordered and were asked about drinks. I said you are having beer tasting later no? Yes. So why we waited for pizza, everyone but us are sampling beers, walking right by us numerous times including I guess the owner or manager. To make matters worse the pizza arrives burnt, either oven too high, pizza too thin and/or cooked too long. Near the crust I couldn't even cut it with a knife! The waitress disappeared for the longest and never asked how it was, I even put the burnt, uneatable pieces upside down on pie plate! The event seemed like an inside family and friends affair only as they were greeted by name. Advice, become an insider or don't go here. See attached photo of burnt crust and thinnest of pizza center.

Got 2 slices of cheese light baked to go, what I got was basically a uncooked pizza. It was flimsy and cold, not to mention soggy. To my understanding, the lady at the front was also a bit snarky, telling me that that’s how the pizzas are made when lightly baked and that I should know that for future reference, she even suggested I put it in the oven? If I go to a restaurant, I’m paying for you to provide me the food already cooked, if I wanted to cook the food myself id go to the grocery store… I didn’t get the woman’s name at the front, but her customer service is awful. I usually have good experiences with Al’s but they definitely dropped the ball with this one. The only saving grace was I got a refund which is why it’s 2 stars instead of 1

We typically visit the Neptune beach location, but stopped by the ponte vedra location this visit. They were slammed with togo orders and the after we got there almost every booth was filled. We cannot speak highly enough of the staff, especially CJ our server!! He was running his butt off, we never had an empty drink and our order came out perfect and hot. We love all their locations but the service was outstanding this evening. Thanks CJ!!

You got me again Al, you got me again.

OK, so not to often am I totally disappointed. This time most definitely, a resounding yes from the whole crew.

For realz Bro.

So on 2-25-15, I ordered a very lackluster dinner from your place in 5 points and was very much disappointed. I gave you 3 stars because your establishment sounded slammed and being from the industry I get it. I didn't freak out. I gave you more stars than what was deserved because I understand situations, and you followed through with a quick and timely delivery.

NOT THIS TIME. This time you got me good.

You see. I'm on vacation now. I moved a very far away. Well I came back, i came back just to eat all the wonderful foods I have missed in jax over the last year and a half. Because Jacksonville is a amazing town full of amazing foods that are worthy of a 1200 mile trip.

This time my beautiful fiancé and I have decided to try a different location (only because we were close staying at the Hilton) figuring it must be different, better even, than our last experience with your...

My family and I came here for dinner Saturday night and ordered food. I had a chicken greek salad. The salad was highly acidic even without the vinaigrette and that should have been my warning. I was expecting a good night but instead came home feeling bloated and nauseated an hour later. This lasted all night to the point where I could not even sleep due to the discomfort. Thanks Al's for that uninvited all nighter. If you want to come to a restaurant and play Russian roulette with the menu be my guest. The pizza isn't even that good since the crust tastes like cardboard. I've had frozen pizza much better and the stuff here is just overpriced, overhyped food for people who think spending money will guarantee them a good time. Sorry it won't at this place at least. The atmosphere was not pleasant either; it felt noisy and cluttered with kids peeking through seat tables and employees dropping plates and utensils. I'm guessing my food was not prepared correctly but anyone who wants to take a chance there go ahead....
