Wife and I have been meaning to try this spot as it always seems to draw a crowd Thursday thru Saturday. Well, we finally decided to give it a try so we went for lunch on a Tuesday. Very welcoming upon our arrival and given the choice of indoor or outdoor dining. Was a bit hot so opted for indoor. Wife ordered the Rueben sandwich with onion rings, I ordered the Chicago Beef with sweet peppers and provolone and the house fries. We also decided to try the 5 naked “salt n pepper” wings w/ a side of the mango habanero sauce. Food took a little bit, but we were very pleased with the wait. The wings were hot and fresh, the house made mango habanero sauce was a great dip with a good spicy bite to the sauce. The wife said she liked her Rueben, with her only complaint was that it was a wee bit too toasted for her liking. She really liked her onion rings and loved the horseradish spicy sauce provided for dipping the onion rings. I really enjoyed the “Chicago” Beef sandwich, meat was tender, well seasoned and the au jus sauce on the side paired with a nice portion of hot giardinara on the side was an excellent addition. The house fries were GREAT. More like thinner steak fries or potato wedges seasoned perfectly. Crisp on the outside and tender hot on the inside. The Italian beef has been probably the best tasting Italian beef I’ve had in the SW Florida area. The service was very friendly, especially when we said we were first timers. Very helpful and provided great info on future choices, and great nights to come and imbibe with good bands for entertaining. We will definitely be back with friends as it seems like a fun place to have a few adult beverages and listen to some good music, while having some good quality food! With friendly service and a staff that is proud of their establishment! Highly...
Read moreTwo parts here. The first is for the food. Which was good. Not great but good. They have a pretty diverse menu as far as sports bars go, everything from standard wings to Chicago Italian beef to gyros. And again, all of it was good enough for 3 stars.
The service is what I'm dropping this to a 2 star for. We had a large party of 12, with 4 of these being 13 or younger. We had just gone to a college baseball game nearby where All-Star placed an ad in the program. Since we had an hour drive home, we figured we would try a local place out. Also, having been outside in the heat we wanted to be inside. Now, the indoor dining area was empty and the gentleman who seated us quickly pushed enough tables together and was very friendly. But then there was some drama between wait staff as to who would serve our group. One woman complained loud enough that someone else was supposed to wait on us but that whoever that was is always "missing". They did quickly take drink orders and we got past that and ordered food. Now, 2 of my kids didn't have their food ready when they brought everyone's out, which happens. The gentleman who originally sat us was very apologetic but again, you could sense a weird tension between members of the wait staff and perhaps the kitchen. The server eventually even brought me over the ticket she entered to prove that it wasn't her fault. What was awkward was that we didn't complain or anything, my wife and I were too hungry to! But you could just sense friction, drama or something going on...
Read moreThis is a pretty large place with seating both inside and semi-outside. We chose to sit in the semi-outside restaurant/bar area. We came for lunch and it wasn't crowded so we expected that the service would be decent. Unfortunately, that was not the case and we waited 15 minutes just to place our drink order. It took another 10 minutes just to get the water and a coke. We ordered an appetizer and that came out in about 15 minutes which wasn't too bad but our food took another half hour. Jeff ordered the fried fish special and I ordered the shrimp Po'Boy. My sandwich came dry without the, "home run" sauce and we couldn't flag anyone down for another 10 minutes. By the time we got the sauce, my food was getting cold. There were only 4 shrimp on the sandwich and the tails were still on so I had to take the tails off and cut each shrimp in half to better align them on the sandwich. For $13, I would've expected a better sandwich. Jeff's fish wasn't seasoned and was kind of a greasy mess. The fish was the special of the day but there was nothing special about it. When we were finished, we stacked our plates at the end of the table and waited 20 minutes for our check. Again, we had to chase down the waitress and we finally got the check. We immediately put the card in the book and she walked away without it. We waited another 15 minutes to get our card back. The service was terrible and the food was nothing to write home about so, we will not be returning. Thanks...
