Beef Country — Local services in Port Charlotte

As a South African recently relocated from NJ to FL, discovering Beef Country Butcher Shop in Port Charlotte has been a true gem! My American husband, who adores all things South African, and I make a weekly pilgrimage every Saturday for their incredible biltong, droëwors, and savory pies. Their in-house made chicken salad is absolutely to die for, and we can’t resist stocking up on fresh Certified Angus Beef, lamb, all-natural chicken, pork, and their delicious homemade sausages. The shop also carries South African treats like chocolates, rusks, cookies, mayonnaise, and chutney—everything is divine, always fresh, and of the highest quality.

The store itself is impeccably clean and fully stocked, with that iconic cow on the roof making it impossible to miss! But what truly sets Beef Country apart is the warm, friendly staff who have become like family over the past year. To Karina and Roelof, thank you for your amazing work—we so appreciate you! READ THIS WHOLE REVIEW PLEASE !! It’s a shame that 1 erroneous, WRONG review can bring a great business’s rating down so much. There IS one of those on this list ( a 1 star complaint about hours and days of operation) I’d love to review this place 10 more times to bring up their average to where it should be; 5 STARS. This place is WONDERFUL. FINALLY, food that doesn’t give me heartburn. Great, great, great sausages. I do peel of the casing first. Incredible cole slaw. Why have I been buying Publix cole slaw all these years? It’s junk compared to this. A true epiphany. They even make REAL dog food. We’re talking hearts and liver and a bunch of other Real stuff at an el cheapo price. My dog almost ran me over trying to get to this dog food ! Their steak and kidney pot pie was TO DIE FOR. Very fair prices. Publix meat is not as good and much more expensive. And OVER THE TOP INCREDIBLE SERVICE ! And so much cheaper...

People's lack of knowledge about what they're ordering and complaints about "customer service" is hilarious! Someone says the filet (strap) was "tasteless"... it's the most tender, NOT most flavorful and lacks fat (which gives taste) hence the reason a strip of bacon is used historically around the filet when cooking. KNOW WHAT YOUR ORDERING. NOT BC's fault you're ignorant. It's a butcher shop. "Customer service" is perfect. They sell you the best beef available in the county. THANK YOU Beef County!!!
