Au Bon Gout Restaurant — Restaurant in Florida

The food tasted good, but portion is small. Customer service is absolutely terrible. We walked in and stood there for a while before someone asked to take our order. Ok no big deal bc that's the expectation at most haitian restaurants. As I was telling the lady what i want to order, without saying a word she just turned around and walked away; she then came back with an order notepad, again without saying a word. So considering i was already there, i finished my order.

While i was waiting for the food (45 min later), my husband and I were sitting accross from each other talking, just a few feet between us (our knees were almost touching), the lady who took our order just walked right between us. We had to lean back to make way for her. I couldnt believe it. There was a guy there who came to fix a broken mirror, he was going around and over my husband to take measurements instead of just asking him to move. We hand the lady our card to pay, then she told us cash only and that everyone knows that. She told us to go the the ATM next door. Mind you we're from out of state, and cash only is not written anywhere. We had to scour our bags to find sufficient funds to pay.

I decided this was the last time I am going to take my butt to a haitian restaurant; i've had too many bad customer service experiences with haitian restaurant. Toutotan customers ap kontinye frekante restoran ayisyen, yo pap janm chanje. As for me and my household we are done with haitian...

Listen! this restaurant I decided to never spend my money there again. I usually get the fried turkey when I use to go there. Au Bon Gout was recommended to me by my coworker. The only reason why I gave a 2 star instead of a negative star, is because i truly enjoyed their fried Turkey & rice. However.. customer service sucks there. I can deal with the fact that no one there speaks English. But! I can not deal with the fact that when I call in my order, they can't seem to find it on my arrival. I am not a fan of having to sit for 25 minutes waiting for my food. Particularly being the fact that I called ahead. When I go to Au Bon Gout it's about 5 miles east of the i95. Which is the way I take to get home. So it is out of my way. I try to beat rush hour traffic so I hate the fact that my food is never ready when I get there. The last time I visited there which is about a month ago. I had called around 30 minutes prior to me getting there. Got there, & like all the other time I called ahead, they say they don't know who took my order but they don't have it. So I told them I'll take my business elsewhere. The manager was sitting around one of their tables in there, she didn't even tried to assist me in anyway. When I told my coworker about my visit, she said that I wasn't the first one that she recommended the restaurant to, to say the same thing. Bad...

My best friend has been raving about the food here although she complained about the heat. I told her the next time I came home for a visit, I would try the food. I went there Friday night, it wasn’t too busy. I won’t complain about the customer service because that’s an area Haitians should continue to work on. After ordering 2 Lambi and 1 Turkey, I patiently waited for the food. We got our food and it went downhill from there. There was a roach crawling on someone’s plate that preordered. Then a second roach on the counter. I was over it at this point. We left and arrived home, lambi was horrible and tasted like left overs. They must of ran out of lambi because there was shrimp combined with the lambi. The friend plantains were horrible because they were not cooked properly. A waste of $50. I will never ever buy food from there nor should you. I like to support our people but when roaches are involved, that’s my limit.
