Ahhh Pot'iwa Pizza....Haitian Pizza and more! People kept sending me Tik Tok reviews of this spot and I loved that this was Haitian food with a creative twist. Pizza, tacos, burritos, etc. I've read that this is the first US franchise and there's supposed to be two locations...North Miami and Miami Gardens. I went to the North Miami location and it was super cute inside. There's a small bar and seating for about 25 people. There was a steady flow of people in and out. The rep taking my order was super pleasant. Great customer service! If taking out, I suggest ordering online. The price range is $ to $$. They have pizza with toppings such as griyo/griot, seafood (herring/aranso, codfish/mori, conch/lambi lobster, shrimp, etc), pineapple and ham and more! Tacos with a choice of conch, griot, shrimp, lobster, beef, etc)....Griot or codfish Sliders, griot burrito that includes diri djon djon/black rice... I ordered a small griot pizza, conch tacos and a side of pikliz. Small Griot Pizza - Look at this beauty! A little larger than a personal pan pizza. It had onions, green peppers and of course pieces of griot. Griot is a very popular Haitian food that I've had for years...Marinated piece of pork shoulder, boiled and fried crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with a side of pikliz (a spice coleslaw).... Feedback: Good pizza....cheese melted nicely...Semi soft crust. I saw the griot but did not "taste" the griot. Maybe there needs to be larger pieces or more marinated meat to taste it when eating. When I dipped the slices in the pikliz (very good) it hit the spot! Conch Tacos - First, I loved the box served with the three tacos. The conch was a nice size cubed piece and very tender however the taco itself was very basic and basic looking. No effort put into them. The pikiz saved the day! It really kicked it up a notch! The tacos had tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. What about using cabbage slaw, slices of avocado, sprinkle diced Haitian mangoes topped w/ a pikliz or tropical sauce....or a cucumber/mango slaw mixed w/ pikliz or a mango salsa? Overall Feedback: I would probably try the seafood pizza next time. Skip the tacos. Maybe try the burritos... Grade: B/B-

I soo wanted to love this place because of the creativity for Haitian flavored pizza. However, it missed the mark for me. I ordered the griot pizza and the beef pate kode. Both were a disappointment. The griot pizza I expected to have more spices in the griot pieces and was not. Not sure what sauce they used for the base, but there was barely any sauce on the pizza. I tasted more cheese and bread than anything. The crust was underwhelming, like that of frozen pizza not fresh dough. The good thing I can say about the beef pate was that it had ample meat unlike the traditional pates. Even with a good amount of meat, the flavor was still wayyy off for me. I did not like whatever seasoning they used. Expect food to take 30 mins or longer. This bothered me also because a small pizza should not take that long especially when not crazy busy. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend to my friends and family just because I didn’t like the food.

This has got to be the best pizza that I’ve ever had in my life. The idea is simply genius. The restaurant is small on the inside but enough to sit down and eat, can probably fit 20 people comfortably. When I went I asked for a recommendation and the staff recommended the seafood or the griot so I got both. The food was so good that I went back the following week and tried other foods on the menu. Their Griot Pate Kode is to die for. Seasoned so perfectly and had a nice fluffy dough. They also h e Griot Tacos and Griot Burritos. The Griot Burritos has Djon Djon rice and the flavor is immaculate. I’ve gone back at least three times since the first time and they get busier ever my time. The food is so good and the customer service is on point. I highly recommend every try this spot.

I have visited this spot and enjoyed the food and that’s why I came back driving way from Pembroke Pines to enjoy there food and Me and my Husband had the worst experience tonight we ordered herring taco, conch taco ,and herring medium pizza to start of with the cashier she put the order in wrong and gave us a mori taco instead then for our pizza the cook made a mistake and gave us griot pizza instead of herring I have not ate griot in over 10 years do to me not eating pork in so long unfortunately I ate one before realizing it was pork I left feeling sick then we advised the lady at the register that they gave us the wrong pizza even though our receipt said herring she advised that this was a mistake on behalf of the cook so then the cook went ahead and made the right pizza on our receipt but this time she gave a pizza that was burnt after waiting almost 40 minutes 20 minutes to get the wrong pizza which was the cooks mistake and then waiting another 20 minutes for the right pizza which came out burnt I then advised the young lady about our issues then she went to the back and the cook advised her to tell us she’s not making anything over so the lady came out smiling advising that she won’t be able to remake it due to her burning our pizza also her making the mistake of making griot and also the cashier putting in the wrong taco which we were not going to complain about due to us not being the type of people to make big deals but do to all these inconvenience I had to explain this on also since we drove over 20 minutes to get here the service was horrible they had no consideration what was done to us and the cook had an attitude like she was upset at us for the mistakes she was making so I requested to speak to a manager she advised me that they were not in I asked her for her name she said Kimberly and when I asked for the cook name she advised that she can not tell me but when I look at the receipt at her name I did not see Kimberly I seen her name it was merlande which she lied about also the cook came out a few time looking like she had a problem with us when it looks like she was having a bad day I did over hear the cashier call her Erica but I can be wrong I don’t think I will ever come back due to this experience me and my husband was very upset because we came for the herring pizza and herring taco which we never got a chance to eat do to the cashier putting a mori taco instead and due to the pizza being burnt whenever we come to this place just for a party of two we spend more then $100 do to us ordering multiple things as well as taking food to go I also am pregnant and ate one of those griot pizza and felt sick and also had to wait almost one hour just to realize that I have to drive back home to Pembroke Pines on an empty stomach if I could of rate you a zero for this experience I would also I will be reaching out first thing tomorrow to speak with a manager because this was uncalled for and the fact that they put us through all this inconvenience due to your cashier and cook with no remorse something needs to be done.

Thank you for making things right we really appreciate you caring about fixing our experience and we will now come...

Literally an amazing experience. The pizza was amazing. I got the Griyo pizza which was just more special than I thought it would be. As far as atmosphere, it's a small place so you know you can't expect too much. It is exactly what it is. It's just a small pizza place but obviously serving more than just pizza. I only had the pizza so I can't really rate the other food. I ordered ahead and I got there about 10 minutes after they said it would be ready and the pizza was fresh and hot. So on that level the service was amazing. I have nothing bad to say. The only unfortunate thing is that this is the only location in South Florida or in the world maybe and if they had a location in Broward I think their business would go through the roof, especially in that little shopping area that's on Pines near Palm. In the new Pembroke Pines city hall downtown area. Potiwa pizza is amazing. Highly recommended! If it wasn't such a far drive, I'd probably go there once a week, but I'll be headed down there in a couple weeks to try some of their...
