We stumbled upon this place while visiting Fernandina Beach for the weekend. We stopped at a few other breakfast spots and were uncomfortable with the lack of social distancing. So, we found Bantam & Biddy, which serves both breakfast and lunch, and I am SO glad we did! The staff was friendly from the time we called to inquire about their offerings and social distancing policy to the time we left their establishment after our meal. Our server was Jessie, and she was so pleasant, patient, and helpful. We had three hungry children (and three hungry adults...lol) in our party, and she helped us navigate the menu to find something for everyone. She also gave my husband a complimentary slice of strawberry cake since we were in town celebrating his birthday. Another server, who had just started her shift a little after we arrived, came over to our table to greet us and thank us for coming in. The manager was pleasant and engaging during our entire visit, as well. We truly felt welcomed and comfortable.
On top of the A++ service, social distancing was being actively practiced inside the restaurant and outdoor seating was available. The restaurant was clean and inviting already. So, we felt very much at ease dining in.
The food was also VERY tasty and FRESH! Everyone was pleased with their meal selections. Items to try: Drinks: Green Monster and Orange Juice (both fresh squeezed), Iced Caramel Latte Entrees: Fried Shrimp Basket (shrimp were so good), Big Chicken Skillet, Chicken & Waffle (cheddar waffles were amazing), and the French Toast NOTE: There was a good selection of gluten free options on the menu, as well.
Everything was great about our experience at Bantam & Biddy today. So, if you are in town and looking for a clean, safe place to have some really good food and superb service, please patronize this restaurant! We are so grateful that we did!
Thanks so much for an awesome experience, Jessie and the rest of the staff! God bless you all for your attentive and careful service, especially in these pandemic times. We WILL...
Read moreWent on a easy Wednesday afternoon for lunch with my wife and two kids. Had a choice of sitting inside and outside. Their outside patio is spacious with multiple TVs playing different channels.
Took sometime for our order to be taken. As we sat there, I noticed they had trouble in distinguishing tables and their orders. My coffee order was doubled (not charged though) and our food order was almost sent to the wrong table as well.
I originally requested sweet potato fries as my side but instead got mashed potatoes. I wasn’t in the mood for the correction as there wasn’t an additional charge.
I had the fried chicken po-boy which was large and difficult to eat as a sandwich but not too bad. My wife said the shrimp she had was delicious. Also her spinach and quinoa salad was good as well.
As we sat there, there were other complaints made to the servers from other tables about their orders (stuff being in a milk cup, rose issues, taste of the beets) while this didn’t bother me, it showed they might be having an off day.
I really like that they have a wide variety of coffees to choose from and would like to go back and try again next time I’m...
Read moreI found this restaurant while on a trip by searching for a place that serves gluten free. It is a order at the counter restaurant. I got the build a “biscuit”. I subbed a gluten free bun and fried chicken tenders. The chicken was so crispy and juicy. The flavor was flavorful with peppery brown ones The bun was toasted and buttered. I ordered fries. They do not come with your sandwich, fries were fresh cut, not enough fries for cost, in my opinion, but delicious. I also ordered a gluten free brownie. This was the most reasonably priced. It was moist and delicious
I think it was slightly overpriced overall. They made me pay $.50 per condiment request I asked for mayonnaise and honey mustard and it cost me $1.07 extra. But I wasn’t at home so I paid the extra. I definitely do not think it was worth $.50 each and I didn’t even want ketchup. But I would go back the food was great and I love to support a place that’s local and does gluten-free.
The bathroom was clean Cashier friendly Numerous booths, tables and bar seating, as well as outside seating.
