Beach Diner Ponte Vedra Beach — Restaurant in Florida

First time there. My companion had been before. The food was okay no complaints about the food or how it was prepared. It also came quickly. Our server who never told us her name was very underwhelming. She just popped up at the table no greeting and simply said "what are you having or would you like more time". She didn't reference the specials on the written menu at all. When we ordered, there was no okay or thanks or any words other than let me grab these menus. She took them and walked away. The entire service went that way. No check in and I had to request everything I wanted including coffee and soda. (The hostess gave us water). As a foodie, food preparation and taste matter but as a person who loves food experiences, service is number 1. Ordered one of the specials 3/27/17, coconut shrimp. They were awful! Worst meal ever. They were way over cooked and hard. I had to cut them with a steak knife! One would think that you could get good seafood at the beach!! The guy next to me ordered another special, beef stew. He said his was awful as well. All of the beef was extremely grissly and fatty. He ate about 25% of it and left in disgust. I have been going here for lunch over several months and the quality of the dishes have been getting worse. Most, if not all, of their vegetable side dishes are way over cooked and mushy. Truly disappointed since the Diner is convenient to Sawgrass CC where we live.It would be wonderful to have a high quality place to get excellent food. Beach...

Excellent fare and service in a clean, relaxed atmosphere is what you will find at Beach Diner Ponte Vedra Beach. An early morning breakfast gave us a chance to observe and enjoy the Diner before morning rush. It appeared the mise en place was out of the way and they open ready for cooking. Not hurried and well served, conversation was possible and kept our party there until we were ready to leave before it was busy. The ample seating indicates they can accommodate many more guests.
