UPDATE:
Follow up: (awkward and not good) : after my initial review, it was nice to see that it was taken seriously by Bronx Pizza mgmt. They encouraged me to get in touch with them to make things right. So based on this, I thought I'd give this location a second try: I placed an order online for a large pizza. I went into the store to pick it up then asked to speak to Alex or one of the managers and I was told that Johnny, one of the owners was there. Great I thought!! I asked to speak to him and he was making pizzas in the kitchen.
Anyone could tell this guy was a stereotypical New Yorker because he has no people skills whatsoever!! (Apologies to all the nice New Yorker's out there)
I asked him if he was familiar with the deal they were offering a couple of weeks ago, he said he wasn't that familiar with it. So I told him I was there a couple weeks ago and didn't appreciate the fact that the deal wasn't honored when we were dining in. He looks at me and in stereotypical New Yorker attitude says "yeah that deal was take-out only" I said that no where did it say that". Next thing I know he's bitching at me: "so wadda you want?" Taken aback, all I said was "I'd like the deal, I just ordered a large pizza." He yells to the cashier "Give this guy the deal!, yeah he just ordered a pizza. Give him the deal with the garlic knots and salad!". So of course he was familiar with the deal, what a douche!
This is the type of guy that gives all New Yorkers a bad rap. Unfortunately for Bronx Pizza, I won't be going to ANY Bronx pizza location EVER.
PREVIOUS REVIEW:
PIZZA SCAM!! BAIT & SWITCH!! Misleading, deceptive management does not honor advertised offers they mail out.
We were initially very excited to see Bronx pizza open in Ponte Vedra, even more excited when we received via postal mail an invitation to try out the new location and receive a free salad and garlic knots with the purchase of a large pizza. We arrived, got seated immediately and ask our server for drinks and told her that we will be ordering a large pizza and wanted to use the offer we got in the mail. She said "oh yeah I know exactly what offer that is: we've had a lot of problems with that offer because it's ONLY VALID FOR TAKEOUT and I know that nowhere on the mailer does it say this but our manager has decided not to honor it for dine-in customers. I'm sorry"
What???? I told the server that we came to that location specifically to try them out thanks to the offer and she kept apologizing and that this was her manager's decision. I wasn't going to argue with the server so we just ordered our food, while shaking our heads in disbelief.
Clearly this manager doesn't know the first thing about building a clientele, especially dine in patrons who will spend more money on drinks, desserts, etc.
We won't be back to this location, fortunately there is location in Nocatee where the manager knows how to build a loyal clientele in fact when they opened last year the first time we visited we were treated to a free dessert as an grand...
Read moreThe best pizza I have had in Jacksonville thus far (been here 6 months). The restaurant was clean and the staff welcoming for the most part. I had the garlic knots and the butcher shop pizza. The garlic knots were tasty and not overly oiled, the Mariana was also solid but nothing special. I give the actual pizza a 6.8/10 it was very good crust was tasty, sausage and pepperoni were both noticeable flavors that made the slice pop. The Canadian bacon/ham however fell short in comparison to the...
