Went for dinner tonight at the Lockwood Ridge, Bradenton location. Got the 2 for $20. You pick an appetizer then your meal. I ordered the chips and queso instead of salsa on the appetizer list. The waitress "Elizabeth" had to go ask if they could do that? They always do that. There are several choices as they have a pretzel and queso and a chip and salsa on the menu for the appetizer choices. So it was just a mix match. Same queso is used on both. She came back and said that they could not substitute. I kindly explained they have done it several times before and that it was not a substitute as it is an appetizer choice. Its actually cheaper for them to give me the chips instead of the pretzel. I asked to talk to the person who told my waitress no. I spoke to the manager who said they dont substitute for other items. I explained i was not asking for like a side of bacon here it was on the appetizer choices. So he then said," oh ok then i can do that and i will have them bring the chip and queso right out", and the problem was settled. However, after the chips and queso were brought out the waitress came back over and said that the manager "Michael" told her to upcharge me for the substitution. I asked her to please have Michael come out and talk to me, however he would not. He never mentioned an upcharge. She said he was going to have another girl come out and talk to me however that did not happen. Michael hid in the back because he knew he was wrong. Let me give you some advise Michael, when there is a problem you take care of it, thats the role of a supervisor. I was kind, i was understanding, and polite. I told the waitress it was not her fault, as she was apologetic and left her a good tip. Dear owner, you have some serious in house issues you need to handle. We did not eat our dinner instead asked for boxes to try and eat it later, we lost our appetites. Maybe you should learn your menu Michael? You lost a good customer! Wow is this place corrupt...it comes with its own troll review service 2 hrs after you leave an...
Read moreLast night I went to dinner with my fiance. We ordered the 2 for 20 dinner special. I wanted the chips and queso instead of salsa because I do not like salsa for our appetizer. Our waitress Elizabeth said she was not sure if they could substitute so had to ask her manager. Her manager said no to her and then she came back and told us. We have ordered the chips and queso before instead of getting salsa and this has never been an issue before. My fiance tried to make me happy so, she went to speak to the manager Michael and explained to him what we wanted as it was a choice on the menu. You can get pretzel and queso as an option so why not chips? He said he would have the chips and queso sent to us that it was not an issue, however never told us at the time it would be an up charge. Michael the manager tells our server to bring the queso to our table and to mention that there will be an up charge after the fact. I do not care about spending an extra 2 dollars or whatever it is but the principle of the matter is Michael the manager was being shady and does not have customer service skills. We had asked to speak to him, but he decided to stay in back and not come back to talk to us, but rather just not charge us for the up charge. He knew what he was trying to do was wrong that he was being a coward staying in the back and not try to resolve and issue. We live close to this restaurant and have been here many times, but because of this manager and his lack of concern he lost our future business and we lost our appetite after this incident. My fiance was not happy about what occurred either and decided to place a review about what happened last night. Two hours after she placed a review someone decides to mock her review. Our compliant is a legitimate review and we want it to be taken seriously that the manager on duty last night Michael had lack of respect for us and lost...
Read moreWe went to the location off sr70/ & Lockwood ridge ext. Good food and service was too. One thing we didn't care for was a loud, drunk person at the bar when we walked in. He turned and pointed at my wife's mask and said the Gators are in here and continued on for about a minute. Her mask has the logo for the college team (the Gators). I just shook my head, smiled and said ok and we proceed to our table. I made a comment to the hostess; I think he should be cut off and asked to relax or leave. She smiled and said "yeah he can be a little loud, he is one of our regulars" and walked off. Really and they are ok with that, really??!. It was atad unsettling and kinda ruined our stay until he left. He must have said I'll see you tomorrow six times and walked around messing and chatting with the workers before finally leaving.. While here we all were looking around at others and noticed they/most other tables were also shacking their heads and making remarks of this drunk show. I'm guessing he wasn't well received by the other customers from their reactions. He was a little too much and should have been asked to leave or calm down. We all deserve to have fun and a few drinks, but if you can't handle it , go somewhere else. This place isn't your dive in hole in the wall bar, so please don't act like it is. Granted I didn't hear any rude remarks from him. His friends and others at the bar did tell and make hand jesters to him to be quite, stop and or chill out.. Even his buddies knew he was too much.. Someone might not react to kindly to him and knock him out, it crossed my mind a few times, believe that.. Over all not bad. May return another time soon because we did enjoy the food but not the experience, if that drunk is there we are walking out and not...
