Blue Dunes Grille — Restaurant in Florida

Google is nice enough to give us terminology for the star ratings: loved it, liked it, "it's ok", etc. I'd say that the food here falls right into the "it's ok" category. As my wife remarked, "thoroughly adequate." But let's set that aside for a moment. What you're getting here is the ability to continue sitting by the pool without going off somewhere else to eat. In such a beautiful place, well, that's probably worth it.

One of the most common things I heard was that the service was slow. Indeed, we waited about 40 minutes for food. But again, it was 40 minutes of sitting next to the pool in the glorious sunshine. Could have been worse.

One tip would be to ask for your check to get the process going as soon as you order. They do seem to take a very long time to process tabs. Our server explained that their system was very slow and I heard numerous people complain about it while sitting near the pool...

This was a great find and a pleasant surprise. The outdoor seating was much nicer than I would have anticipated alongside a small pool. We ordered our food to-go from the bar so that we could take it out to the beach. Once I turned around to find a place to sit and wait, I realized we would have enjoyed one of the shaded, beach-view poolside tables just as much, if not more. Laura was very friendly and helpful.

The food also exceeded expectations. We honestly anticipated mediocre/bland food that smacked of just-microwaved-from-frozen, but what we got was flavorful and fresh. We had Mahi tacos and a Red Snapper (catch of the day) sandwich on brioche. Even the taco shells were delicious — a soft double layer of actual corn tortillas. Delicious food in a convenient and...

Waited to enjoy this restaurant on our last night. Big mistake! Spoke with the lady bartender at 4:45 about the best items to order. She had great recommendations and said the only draw back they closed at 7 pm. I stated no problem, we will be here at 6:30. Showed up at 6:30 and the bar gate was half down and the guy there said kitchen is closed. As we walked away, he closed the bar door. Thanks for nothing Blue Dunes Grille. We come every year and you will never get another penny from our group....
