I gave the Hilton a chance to make this right before posting a public review, but I received no response from them. So, I'd like to warn you so you don't waste your money. First, we ate breakfast at Sandcastles thinking that it was included with the room only to get a $60 bill at the end of breakfast. Not a big deal, just an oversight on my part. But we eat light at breakfast and we are vegetarian, so most of the buffet was not appealing. It was a waste of money. That evening we opted for the convenient dinner (seated in the "sushi" area because Sandcastles area was closed). We stood for a few minutes and finally had to ask a staff member if we need to just seat ourselves, which we did. After 15 minutes at the table we went to FIND OUR OWN MENUS. Another 10 or so minutes passed before we caught the attention of another staff person to ask for a server. We finally got drinks about 30+ minutes after sitting down. The four dishes came out one by one with almost enough time for each person to finish their meal before the next person received theirs. My entire family was finished eating when my sushi arrived with NO SOY SAUCE. The server mentioned brining some, but first she cleared a table, chatted with a staff member, and entered something in the computer. The whole time I am sitting there hungry waiting to enjoy my food...which turned out to be sub-par. I think people only eat at the on-site restaurants for the convenience because the service was terrible, they were disorganized and the food was...
Read moreI really love this hotel so I wanted to love the restaurants! Shelleica made sure that happened. He fast and knowledgeable service was a pleasure. She was also very friendly and sweet!
We started with some sushi from next door. Will review for them.
My main dish was the truffle chicken salad. I am a chicken salad fanatic, so I set my bar low here just in case. This chicken salad was perfectly processed. There was no rough chop to the meat at all. The right amount of mayo as well. They also use shaved black truffles and not oil, which was amazing. All this amazing salad was on a fresh buttery toasted brioche bun. I wish this item was not seasonal because it's perfect for a hot day at the beach. YUMMMMY!
My husband had a filet, and he said it was cooked wonderfully!
I also tried the grouper sandwich for another lunch. It a big fresh filled on their wonderful toasted brioche buns!
We also tried the breakfast buffet. It is one of the better buffets I've been to. It's simple and all items were...
Read moreI write this as a 10 year Hilton Diamond member that travels almost every week. This review is directed solely at breakfast. The service was as good as any when you eat at a buffet. The full buffet was about $34 (warm food) and the continental about $23 (cereal, fruit, muffin). Both could be a dollar more or less. For a resort the food on the buffet was very disappointing. Not bad but just about the same food you would get at a Hampton Inn with the exception here you had the option for an omelet if you wanted to wait in a 12 person line. Pancakes were cold, eggs were imitation scrambled, bacon typical hotel bacon, etc. You could order off the menu but individual items were near as expensive as the buffet. One egg off the menu cost more than 4 dozen eggs back home. We stayed for 5 days but only ate breakfast here the first morning then opted to drive down the street to other restaurants if that gives you an idea of the value to price. Value for the...
