Brooklyn Deli — Restaurant in Florida

Well it's affordable for sure and the staff was nice and welcoming. But to be honest the sandwiches to us tasted plain and mediocre at best. I mean it's a sandwich shop but I honestly have had better tasting subs from the Grocery chain Publix. The cuban here was way over crispy and dry. No butter on the bread when pressed. Too much time on the press in my opinion. I grew up in south Florida and this was not a good cuban to me. Definitely tasted like cheaper end meat was used. I have had boar's head meat in my cuban sandwiches before and it tasted great. They have an empty boar's head display case there as you walk in but this did not have the quality taste of boar's head. To me when you go to a sandwich shop/deli, you typically expect a sandwich to be served with a pickle or chips. The sandwiches did not come with either. The other sandwich ordered was the Brooklyn bomber. The meat really wasn't flavorful. The wife said it was "ok" but I could tell she was not impressed by the way she said it. For a local regular customer maybe this place is great. But we have been in Citrus county for 7 years and were trying it for the first time. Sadly we were not impressed but I wish...

As a customer I loved this place years ago, but it's been awhile since I've been in and today I ended up picking up a delivery order off Grubhub for them when I was told to fill the customers drink. I know this seems petty, but I'm just a delivery driver. In addition to it not being in my contract to be preparing any part of a customer's order... I'm not being paid to do so. I'm the person who's delivering a paid order for YOUR business. When I explained I wasn't authorized to do so the one lady there was rude fortunately the other lady could see my discomfort with being asked to do something that's not my responsibility and handled it for me. Which I greatly appreciate. I've been a delivery driver for downtown Inverness for 9 and a half years, I'm a top rated driver and I will no longer be able to deliver this businesses orders... And I did explain to the customer about how this business wants dashers filling...

I don't just give bad reviews for no reason.

The sandchies were alright. Nothing outstanding. However, if you're not a regular here, expected to be treated as so. We were not greeted as we walked in. The lady at the front gave my relative and I so much attitude I was stunned. This was after 2 so no lunch rush or anything going on, as more regulars walk in for the next 30 mintues, all the employees greet them by their names and have this big smile on their faces, and nothing towards us. All I get is looks. It was extremely uncomfortable eating our food there, but there wasn't much else in the area and I was right across the street so I figured I'd stop in here for my first time. Definitely will be my last time. These guys clearly love their regulars, and that's totally cool. I'm used to that around...
