The chef's here can't cook a basic medium well steak. I came in to this restaurant today, and I left with such disappointment that I had to come and make a review. I never make reviews.
Strike 1: We get seated in a empty section of the restaurant, , We waited over 10 minutes and no server ever approached us. We sat and saw people being seated in other section's and being attentively served. They were given water, had their order's taken. It is now 15 minutes, and no one has served us yet, Right before I decide to walk out with my family, The manager decides to move us to a section where we could be server and we were right away.
Strike 2: I ordered a Medium well steak, the sides that came with the steak where delicious. I cut into to steak, to find no pink and just grey. So I'm thinking, maybe the cook mixed up my steak, let me send it back and get what I ordered. I send it back with the waitress and she even agreed that it was overcooked. No biggie right ? Not even a few minutes later the Manager comes out and asked me how'd I like my steak cook, I told him I would like it medium well, He then tells me that my original steak was cooked medium well, and that there should be no pink in a medium well steak, he's a "steak guy". So he then tells me that if I wanted pink then order a medium. I was honestly so baffled that he would try to correct me on a medium well steak, as if this is the first time I order a steak in a restaurant in my adult life, So I told him yeah, bring me a medium.
Strike 3: The steak that came out was even more overcooked then the first one that I ordered. I send it back and tell them I'm done. The manager comes out apologizing offering to make me a 3rd steak personally. I decline the offer because my conscious would have me feeling like they spit in my food after sending so many food back. The manager then tells me, he don't know why his chef cooked me a well done when he specified that it was medium. To my disbelief he then tells me that he wont even let his cooks make his own steak, So I asked Why are they cooking then ? Why hire them if you wont even let them cook you a steak ? The manager giggled to my response and avoided giving me an answer and just proceeded to take the food off of my check and gave me a discount on the other food my family ate.
All in all, I will never come back to this establishment again. It was such a waste of time and a huge burden on my family. I wanted to order drink's, get appetizer's, have a good dinner but after waiting 15 minutes just to even meet a server, we just wanted to order our food and be done, and then to be served sub par food, such a disappointment. We only come to this Chilli's because it's the only restaurant near us. From now on I'll make the 20 minute drive to another location, at least the service and food...

My kids ordered pizza, my wife ordered a sirloin, i ordered chips and salsa, a baked potato soup, and the chicken fajitas.... My money was on the chicken fajitas getting me sick, or perhaps the soup. We all had chips and salsa and i was the only one who got the bacterial infection. Today is July 11, and Im starting my 2nd round of 10 day antibiotics. Diarrhea, nausea, upset stomach, 9 days of MISERY, thanks to a kitchen staff that could not keep the food and ingredients safe for its customers. This is completely inexcusable and unacceptable. Not only have I been miserable for 9 plus days and counting, I had to spend $200plus dollars of doctors and medication bills ( would have been way more if i would have gone to the hospital, which I probably should have). So thats the worst part, now I will continue with the fact that the waitress would literally drag her feet as she walked to dissappear for extended period of times. I had to get up to ask someone close to the kitchen for a lime for my wifes corona, as said waitress was no where to be found. Than I finally got someone to"bring" me the lime.... but than they forgot. After approximately 5 minutes i was able to find someone else to get me the lime for my (by now) wifes hot beer. Dont get me started on the floor, you better have some great non slip resistant shoes to navigate the floors on your way to the restroom, which is not as disgusting as the floors but a very close 2nd place. The floors are so nasty you can "hear" it as you walk. 1000% positive i contracted the infection here, as this was the last place I ate until my diarrhea started 12 hours later at 6 in the am. I am a grown man, but I would not wish this infection on anyone. MY ONLY REASON FOR THIS REVIEW IS SO THAT YOU OR YOUR KIDS DO NOT GO THROW WHAT I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH THE LAST 9 DAYS AND COUNTING. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Chilis, I payed with a credit card and you will see me and my family on your cameras if you want to verify if what im saying is true, or I can bring you my doctors bills and diagnosis, if you'd like. I was at the Chillis located on 15200 SW 127th Ave, Miami, FL 33177- on tuesday April 4-2023 at around 3:50 in the afternoon. When i got there i sat at the counter- there were only 3 other people sitting at the counter as well and a couple seated at a high table near by. When i sat i was immediately greeted by a young men who immediately handed me a menu and asked me what i wanted to drink. I immediately told him i was starving having nothing to eat all day- i told him i wanted the 6 onz sirloin special with bake potato butter on the side - he even asked if i wanted broccoli and i replied no - he proceeded to tell me what I could replace the broccoli with and i told him corn. Shortly after that another gentleman ( an older guy) brought me the ships and gave me ice water - i then sat for 37 minutes waiting until i asked how much longer for my meal to be ready. The older guy who had given me the water and chips told me that there was no food pending for me. I turned around and saw the guy who had taken my order walking thru the kitchen- i then asked to talk to the manager. The manager came and simply said āi can cook your meal in 5 minutes if u wantā-but there was no apologies - i even asked the manager what had happened with my order (?)- he simply said ā i donāt know he said he was clocking out and forgot ā. Again- no apology- With that i knew it was time to go and NEVER - EVER - COME BACK. No apologies after i sat for over 40 minutes with a totally empty stomach at 4:00 pm on a Tuesday while the rest is practically empty mostly with the staff only. I did tell the manager that i did not wanted to pay for the chips and he said āyeah ok no problemā. With that i left straight to Wendys.
This is the reason WHY you guys are loosing customers!!! And therefore loosing locations.
Poorly managed restaurants ran by staff with attention deficit disorder or by staff who are there ONLY for the pay check and NOT for a CAREER.
VERY SAD!!! Chillis will end up like Tony Romas - a great place with great food who are all gone and we all missed. š„¹š¢š¢
