Took my family to brunch today. We thought we would try something new. We have 3 kids ages 4,5 & 7 and we work very hard to make sure our kids understand how to behave in a restaurant and be respectful of other people in the dining room. So, we have specific rules for our kids and have a high standard for them. We arrive and there was going to be a 15-20 min wait for 5. No problem. We waited 35 mins outside (there isn’t a lot of room for waiting especially that long with Kids). We got to our table and waited almost 10 mins for our server to come by. She came without a way to take our order so we gave her our drink order. She came back with our drinks a few mins later and said she would be back to take our order. 15 mins later we are still waiting and finally another waitress realized we needed to order and took our order. By this point we have been at the table for 25plus minutes and at the restaurant for nearly an hour. The kids were hungry and their behavior was taking a nose dive. But we hung in. 33 mins later, after asking on status our food finally arrives. We are well past comfort as we have been attempting to keep 3 hungry kids under control for the last almost hour and Half. When good comes Kids are happy and dive in. My husband was satisfied but so hungry it didn’t much matter. My food is luke warm and the only thing on my plate that was desirable was the bacon. Pancakes taste like flour and are cool with room temp syrup. Full disclosure I always have a hard time getting my eggs cooked right, but this place really talks up their ability to make eggs and that they are hand cracked cooked to order. So I thought hopefully I can finally get my eggs like I like them. I ordered soft scrambled eggs with cheese. They came with no cheese and hard scrambled. At this point I wanted nothing. But it is what it is. My husband ate them and my kids ate my pancakes so I didn’t send them back. Server continued to be kind but not paying attention to drinks needing refills etc. everything we needed we had to ask for after waiting and waiting for her to come by. Never asked how things were until it was time for the check. I was honestly so annoyed at this point and frankly hungry I just wanted to be done. I was so over it I didn’t bother to give my feedback. $60 later we left exhausted and frustrated.
This is a bit of a hike to get to for us, so for me I will not return. It was not only a ridiculous wait but food was mediocre.
I’m sad because although service and food left a lot to be desired the restaurant was clean including the bathrooms and every staff member was very kind. I rated 3 stars for those facts alone. I wish we could find a restaurant that really made an effort to pay attention to families with kids and find ways to entertain them or satisfy them. That would make long waits far more bearable. Something as simple as getting their fruit ahead of the order or offering animal crackers or something would make a huge difference. Hoping one...
Read moreI placed an online take out order at 8:45 am for myself and a coworker. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a Good Gracious omelette and both had mistakes or were missing what was ordered.
The omelette was supposed to get home fries with cheddar, onion and green peppers and turkey bacon, both of which cost extra and the sandwich was missing the bacon. After getting to the restaurant and waiting well more than 25 minutes for my order (I was told it would be completed by 9:05), I received my bag and a very unbelievable apology. I get all the way back to work to find that my food was not only cold, but missing the items I ordered and paid extra for.
In calling the establishment, I was greeted by the hostess or a server who listened to my explanation. They asked me to come back to pick up these items, which was declined as I work far away from the establishment. I simply asked for a refund on the items that were missed and was told they had to check on that. After a few minutes of waiting, the hostess asked for my information and said the owner would have to contact me in order to refund. I asked what the time frame would be for this and was then told that even if the owner decides on giving me a refund, it would take up to 3 weeks to complete.
I explained how ridiculous that sounded and questioned why the owner would decide whether or not to give me a refund when the owners establishment made the error on my order.
I'm not one to right horrible reviews for any establishment but this was is warranted 100%. There were literally 5 tables filled when I walked in, the staff was not assisting many of them and the cook was going back and forth with the waitresses for whatever reason instead of pumping out food for people. To wait three weeks for a refund is and sounds absurd and truth be told, I won't be coming back here or recommending this...
Read moreI'd read online there were gluten free options. We've only been in Tampa a short time and have favored a restaurant closer to our home but wanted to branch out. It's hard to eat out with a gluten allergy. I checked with the hostess and she assured me the waiter could point out all the safe items. The waiter had no idea and had to ask someone else. This always makes me nervous because I've been exposed in the past when communication happens this way. Every question was like this. Then when I explained that I'm pretty cautious because of experiences I've had before he assured me he understood. But seemed tired of my questions. But when I asked questions about different options because they didn't have gluten free toast and "had been out for days" according to the waiter I asked to substitute the sides with fruit but it would cost me 4.00 more despite the already pricy omelette I was trying to order. I chose to order just the omelette. It came devoid of flavor and covered in grease despite having no meat in it. Almost no one in our party (I was the only one with a gluten allergy) liked the food because it was either over seasoned or was covered in grease. To make matters worse our plates came out and the server had them all stacked and mine was at the bottom with my daughters plate that had a sandwich pressing into the omelette. I'm paying for it now as I'm sick and probably cancelling any other plans I have today. We will not be returning after paying so much for food for a family of five. I can go to our regular place, pay less for better food that won't make me ill and deal with a staff who takes gluten allergies seriously. So if you have allergies and you like to taste more than grease choose another place. This isn't a safe option for...
