Imagine walking into a coffee shop for the first time, excited about potentially discovering a new favorite place to sit and relax for a while. Everything points to a great experience. Reviews were good. Pictures were great. And now that you are there, the place itself is immaculate, cute, and even inviting. You make your way up to the register, and suddenly, all of your good vibes are utterly destroyed. The person behind the register barely mutters a "hello, how can I help you". Even though you spent some time looking at the menu, you're still a little indecisive, after all, it's your first time here.
You decide to order an iced coffee, since it should be simple enough, right? Coffee, Ice, Sugar, and some milk. How difficult can it be? If there are different choices, surely the person behind the register will politely ask the specifics of your order.
But no, what should've been a simple order, turned into a bitter experience thanks to the cashier being extremely rude. "What milk do you want. Whole, half, we have lots of different milk." Halfway through the order, you decide to ask if you can add flavors to your iced coffee. Cashier replies "Yes. Now, what's your order again?"
Now, keep in mind that this whole time the cashier is looking at you with nothing but disdain. Eyes that are screaming "Are you done yet?" "Can you finish your order already?" "I've got a phone to stare at".
Imagine the rudest words anyone could say to you, and this was probably going through the cashier's mind. During this whole time, you are the one and only customer placing an order in this place. There is no line, no reason for you to be rushed to place your order. Yet this cashier cannot hide her discontent at the fact that you are having a hard time making a choice.
We were hopeful, and even happy when we walked in, and ended up bitter and disappointed on the way out. Even worse, the drinks didn't turn out great, either.
For the cashier: All you have to do is ask a simple question: "Have you been here before? We have different flavors, and different types of milk, you can see them here. What do you think you would like?" These simple questions would've made it much easier for us to place our order, but instead, we had to ask for every single detail on our own, all while being forced to see this person roll her eyes at us.
If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I will not put a name here, but this person, should be replaced with someone that's more welcoming to customers.
As for us, it was our first time, and also our last visiting...
Read moreMy wife and I ordered 2 iced coffees and 2 chocolate chip cookies. The iced coffees were decent, but the cookies were dried out, crumbly, and lacked decent flavor, especially with the fact that 2 cookies cost $8.84. For that price, your baked goods should be GOOD.
The service was slow, and the gentleman that helped us was "nice enough" but didn't really smile and wasn't really kind. There were only 2 employees that we saw, and they were indeed both busy, but that's not an excuse to be barely be present. I could order from a kiosk if I wanted that type of experience.
Finally, this is the first time we actually ordered something, because every time we have been previously (including this time), 95% of the seating is taken up by people camping with laptops, backpacks, etc. I get it to a certain extent, but there were people at the tables that literally had no coffee, pastries, etc. and that is my definition of "camping." I am not sure what their policies are, but we ended up taking our order to go because all of the tables were taken, and the counter-height seating was sporadic.
Overall, I don't think I'll come back. The coffee was good, but while the environment nice, there is just not enough space for people. Better service would have swayed our opinion, but all we received were stale cookies and an attitude that matched...
Read moreThe place is very well organized, clean, good options and keeps the good smell of coffee. My husband and I visited the establishment for the second time this past Sunday 8/28 around 8pm. To our disappointment, the employee (Jeffrey) I can't quite remember the name, he refused to serve our coffee in a porcelain cup, those who know coffee know that this way the texture, body, acidity and sweetness of the coffee is better enjoyed. His excuse was that the cups were already sanitized, which added to the lousy and somewhat unpleasant service. On the other hand, the barista left the bar to deliver the coffee to other customers in thei hands while she called us to go get our coffee. They had no people waiting in line. Unfortunately, we thought we had found a place that would welcome us and offer us the same quality of service. We were the only Hispanics in the cafeteria, I hope that was not the reason for your...
