Jabo's BBQ and Seafood — Restaurant in Florida

As a Maryland native I was on the search for steamed crabs and heading to a place in Hernando Beach. Instead, I made a wrong turn and right in front of me was a food trailer with signs that said Blue Crabs. This was the best wrong turn I've ever made.

The crabs were bigger, fatter and tastier than what I used to get back home at about one third the price. They looked so good, I decided to get a fish platter and barbecue sandwich and it was all homemade including the cole slaw. Not only homemade, but as good as what your grandma would make and better than any restaurant.

They always say something like, "...that hole in the wall has really good food." Not quite a hole in the wall, but this food trailer is amazing. Though it's 40 minutes from my home, I've been there four times in less than two weeks.

Best of all, you are served by the chef himself, Jabo. I bet if Guy Fieri on Diners Drive-ins and Dives came here, Guy would wear out his knuckles fist pumping Jabo every time he would take a bite of the food. It's that good!

This is one place where that Google doesn't give us enough stars above. The need at least 10 stars for Jabo's. Anyone in Florida looking for the real deal with steamed crabs, you gotta head up to Spring Hill to Jabo's. Just don't...

Put a call in order to Jabo’s for a boil and collards. I ended up needing to pick it up the next day due to a family emergency he had. The restaurant has the wrong address on Apple Maps and I ended up going to the wrong place. The owner not only gave me a very generous portion for closing shop early he ended up coming to where I was to provide me the food. Now I hesitated putting this in the review as I’m sure that is not his regular service LOL however it was a above and beyond experience especially because he was in the middle of a family emergency that week and I could tell he was very stressed, not with his customers but in his eyes I could see how tired he was. He was extremely funny and kind. Oh yeah I almost forgot, the foood!!!! 10/10 easy. Collards were best I’ve had in a WHILE - and I know good collards. Does not pay his hired vendor for work performed. Work was performed at a fraction of the cost that would have been charged to help support local/small businesses and in the end he refuses to pay his debt although the work was completed in full prior to opening so he could operate. Multiple attempts to resolve of which owner states "as soon as the money comes in it goes out" along with "I have bills, and electricity". Poor professionalism and not a man of his word. For the high priced menu items the fact that he refuses to pay another local vendor is outrageous as it is wrong. Unfortunately he has left us no choice but to file liens and legal action. Buyer beware as well as other local vendor/contractors - He will NOT pay and provide excuses or avoid you.

Bottom line we all have bills to pay and families to feed and support - The fact that you can charge what you do and refuse to even provide payments is entirely unacceptable and...
