No pienso regresar.
Very disappointing. I just visited KE'KAI and honestly, the food was a letdown. I ordered a teriyaki chicken rice bowl for my son, and it came with literally four tiny cubes of chicken. My husband and I ordered “fried rice,” but what we got was just yellow rice, nothing like actual fried rice.
The tostones were soggy, poorly cooked, and the shredded beef (which is basically ropa vieja) was nothing special. On top of that, they don’t clearly explain prices or portion sizes. I asked for the small box, and without asking me, they gave and charged me for the large one. They also asked if I wanted meat with the rice without clarifying that it came with an extra charge.
I also asked for avocado, and for about five or six tiny chunks, there was an extra charge. The natural juice was extremely sweet and cost nearly $4 for a small cup. We ended up paying almost $70 for three people, and it just wasn’t worth it.
The girl at the counter was very friendly, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of price transparency or the low overall food quality. The boxes look cute, but they definitely don’t justify the price. I won’t be coming back.
Review Update:
I would like to add that after posting my original review—written respectfully and based on my real experience as a customer—I received a response from the owner that was truly disappointing. Instead of replying with professionalism, they chose to make personal attacks, even commenting on my “existence.”
It’s unfortunate and concerning when a business responds to honest feedback with such hostility. Constructive criticism should be seen as an opportunity to grow—not a reason to insult customers.
I’m sharing this so that future customers are aware not just of the service, but also how this business treats people who share...
Read moreI stopped by for takeout and was really excited to try this place after reading all the great reviews. The salad was super fresh and the tacos looked great, but the chicken totally ruined it for me. It was super dry, way too salty, and honestly didn’t even taste fresh—hopefully it was just a one-day thing and not something that’s been sitting around all week. Everything else had potential, but that chicken really threw it off. Hope they can fix that, because I’d be willing to give it...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stumbled onto this place and was not disappointed. It's a humble food cart with the sweetest Cuban women running it. We had La cajita with salmon and other toppings. My fish was made to order. Very vibrant, flavorful, and not salty or too overly seasoned. My boyfriend loved his tilapia. The food came with a green sauce and OMG, leveled it up even more. We also had the watermelon juice! Everything was soooo...
