KFC used to be a tasty, quality, fast casual option but has made a turn for the worse at nearly every location. Common reasons across the board are: rude and dismissive customer service from employees, lack of communication from employees, higher prices, unwillingness to cook more product if there's not enough to fill an order (time of day and pre-ordering online doesn't make a difference), and dry meat with breading that tastes burnt. French fries are often soggy and flavorless. Sauced items lack enough sauce to cover each piece and appear that they've sat under a heat lamp past the point of discard.
My experience at this location last night involved all of the things I mentioned above even though I ordered online. I ordered a 12-piece bucket, extra crispy. I drove 10 minutes to pick it up at the designated time. Upon arriving, I gave my name and asked if the bucket sitting behind the counter was my order. I was told no. So, I waited 30+ minutes and asked again if my order was ready yet because no one communicated or acknowledged me or any of the other customers standing at the counter waiting. This time, an employee begrudgingly slapped a printout on the very same bucket that I asked about when I arrived a half hour earlier and slid it toward me. No ma'am, I do not want chicken thsts been in a bucket for probably 45 minutes now sitting on the counter.
Another customer who saw everything spoke up and pointed out that I asked and was told no a long time ago and that no one wants chicken that's been sitting out that long. Angered, she told them to make me some fresh chicken. The employees said it'd be another few minutes. By now, I've had my dog sitting in my running car outside for nearly an hour for an order I made in advance so I could be in and out quickly. Yes, I was... and still am.... quite mad and felt incredibly disrespected.
The employees threw in 6 biscuits and cinnamon poppers "for my trouble" and sent me on my way with a tied bag and migraine headache after some time. Imagine my surprise when I got home and saw what was in the bucket: 4 breasts and 8 wings. I did not make any special requests, I expected a 12 piece (3 of each piece) all extra crispy. What I got was 12 all white originals that I highly suspect were pulled out of the warmer, rebreaded, and dunked in oil for a few minutes. It was nasty and burnt and a waste of money and time. I ordered out because we had a death in the family today and no one felt OK to cook or do dishes afterwards and KFC put me through additional stress just to be lazy. You should be...
Read moreI was in town for an AYC cheer competition, hosted in the Silver Spurs Arena. It brings people from across the nation to compete for a title in multiple age groups and divisions. We had three competing squads. As a team, we decided to get KFC since it was close to the arena. We were tired of eating the same food. We were hoping for 7 16 piece buckets and more. I arrived to the restaurant. The cashier was pretty helpful. I told him the amount of chicken I wanted- he did his job, asked if we wanted crispy or original. There was already other patrons in the restaurant and appeared to have a small wait. He mentioned it will take some time but I was ok with that. I had girls to feed. However, and it could've been my mistake, I ended asking about how much time. He turned back to the crew, possibly the manager, and I could hear how unaccommodating it was for them/him. I heard the "How many?!" and "Right now?!!" The manager just said, "It's gonna take a long time". Cashier came back, told me the statement I just heard. But I wanted to know how much so I ensued with asking "how much time". After a couple back-and-forths, I heard the manager just plain say "We can't".. it appeared my order was a nuisance. Cashier came back around and said.. "Sir, we can't do it.." Yes, as it sounds. I heard it. My wife and another parent were with me to help carry the order so they can fend for the statement we all heard. Check your cameras if need be. It was shortly after 8pm, pushing maybe towards 8:30 pm. I was wearing a green sweater. I was very disgruntled with their service and lack of attention. I flat out told the cashier, "I've never heard anyone turn down a paying customer before, especially one that's willing to pay over $200 in food". The manager (who wore a different colored shirt) and I made eye contact. I walked out upset, calling and informing my other coaches about the situation. My stomach stirred up with how upset I was I went to Burger King, not for food but to throw up. The manager name given to us was Angel (no last name provided). I have not contacted the general manager but the area coach is Victor Telleria. They close at 12 am on Saturdays. We went to McDonald's to order food instead.. I do like KFC but this was...
