Kimi's Ice Cream - Riverview — Restaurant in Florida

Here's the rub: ice cream was great, the staff was as professional as they could be considering the circumstances. But the owner is failing the business here. On a Saturday night there were only 2 employees, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume neither of them were the owners due mostly to their age. They looked high school age at best. But with the freezers broken and these two girls having to reshuffle stacks of ice cream buckets around repeatedly while having to run to the back to grab the same 3 flavors, the owner should have been here working with them. And whoever else they could rangle up. I see all the negative comments about people waiting 30 minutes for ice cream, and the owner or manager responding asking them to come back and give them a second chance. But they aren't here making sure the second visit is better than the first one. Instead depending on 2 17 to 19 year Olds to work miracles. I'd give this place 5 stars but I did also wait 30 minutes for ice cream through no fault of the staff. Owner needs to take ownership and not leave the staff high and dry at a peak...

The Breakdown: Kimi’s Ice Cream is one of my favorite places in the surrounding Tampa area. Now, I don’t go to Kimi’s for the modern aesthetic - as you can see, the vibe is super casual with a minor coastal feel. While it is nice to experience the fancier establishments, it’s also really important to me to just chill. At Kimi’s, you can absolutely do that! Pull up, grab an ice cream cone with oversized scoops and just hang out with your friends and family! They usually offer outdoor seating in the summer time as well.

Kimi’s is one of my favorites because they serve Superman ice cream - which is a flavor of ice cream you seldomly see anywhere else.

Pro Tip: You can request to try a flavor (or multiple) if you’re not sure on which to order. Also, Kimi’s is located next to a few restaurants. You could grab a bite and stop by Kimi’s for dessert!

Best Part: I always request a few of the 4 scoop containers of my family’s favorite flavors so that we can have them to enjoy...

I've been coming to this ice cream shop for over 10 years—it's hands down one of my favorites in the Tampa Bay area. The flavors are always amazing, the quality is top-notch, the shop is clean, and the customer service has consistently been great. One thing I've always loved is how generous they are with their scoops—it feels like you’re truly getting your money’s worth.

But today was a little disappointing. I ordered one scoop, and as you can see, it looked more like a kiddie portion. My oldest daughter also ordered one scoop and hers was noticeably larger—more in line with what we’re used to (I wish I had taken a photo). My youngest daughter’s cup looked just like mine, so it seems like it might’ve just been the particular server today.

I get that times are changing and prices are going up, but if I’m paying for a full scoop, I expect the cup to be filled the way it always has been. This won’t stop us from coming back—we really do love this place—but I hope this was just a one-off and...
