I went to this Restaurante twice with my mother and my two children, the first time we were served by a very nice lady and we had such a good time that my mother wanted to take her again, the second time we were served by a man who claims to be the owner, the first time he brought us chips with pico de gallo, we love guacamole, we asked for an order to go with the chips, what he brought us was a badly mashed green avocado which was so hard that I couldn't finish mashing it with the fork, it had no salt, no lemon, a lot, it did have some sprigs of cilantro and I say sprigs because it wasn't even mashed, we tried to continue being happy, he brought us our drinks, I asked for a margarita, he brought it to me in a plastic cup with a couple of ice cubes and plenty of salt around the edge of a case that is not really for serving margaritas, they are actually for fruit smoothies, meaning I couldn't drink the margarita because the margarita is so narrow, since there is little ice and being in a glass like this, the margarita did not have the freshness that this type of glass highlights drink when I claimed the hucamole she brought me another one a little better prepared when I had to go up to the bar to ask the girl who served us the first time to help me with the drink she was explaining to me that the premium sibte is given in a cold glass something that the waiter who owns the place never offered us she explained that there were two kinds of margarita one poorly served and the other good, the man at that moment wanted to interrupt he got nervous I also went back to my table and from there I could see how he was talking badly about us to two women who were sitting at the bar I think that doesn't make it much less bad treating us with the motto I am the owner of the restaurant he may be the owner and I am not even Mexican but I know how to eat Mexican food and that from the beginning was bad I drove 45 min to get there to receive this service we returned home and prepared our own...
Read moreI had not been here for years and remembered that this was a fairly nice place for Mexican food. I went for lunch and was told to sit wherever I desired. I chose a booth, which was hard because they all were very worn looking. I thought the wood was distressed on purpose, but all the booths had big rips in the cloth/plastic parts of them. I was served right away and someone brought salsa and chips almost immediately. The restaurant was not that busy but I think it was still early for lunch. The chips were kind of chewy and felt like they had sat out for awhile. later I noticed that they had. They keep them in a stack of bowls sitting out on the counter at the pick up window. I tried to eat some and decided I would just forego the chips and salsa. When I slid them away from me I noticed chips down in the bottom of the little bowl. This was quite disconcerting so after getting the check, I asked the server if they had put them in there and she answered that they probably fell in. I got the chimichangas and they tasted fine. They did not look at all like any I had before and I didn't care for the dry cheese they sprinkled on top. The refried beans were delicious. Sour cream was served in a package. Not too great considering how much the lunch was. All I had was a diet coke to drink and it was fine. I was alone and didn't really want alcohol for lunch but maybe I will give them another chance one day and just go there for Margaritas. They really need to get the inside updated, at least...
Read moreGreat Mexican Food at Reasonable Prices We’ve passed this eatery many times and their parking area is always full so we gave it a try. The main dining room is fairly small, very colorful and has a small full-service bar with numerous beers on tap. I’m a nacho fan so I ordered the Ultimate Nachos with Seasoned Ground Beef, Jalapenos and Sour Cream ($10.95) as my dinner. As I order nachos often I was a bit surprised at the size of the portion. It was probably ½ the size that I’m used to, but at this price, OK. The flavor was great, the meat perfectly seasoned and plenty of melty cheesiness. No leftovers for me. Two or three people could share this as an appetizer. My wife ordered the Enchiladas entree ($14.95). Her dinner plate had three enchiladas, a small salad, refried beans topped with shredded cheese and Mexican rice. Most places offer beef, chicken or cheese filling for the enchiladas and all three would be the same. Not here. She got one of each filling. The enchiladas were excellent and flavorful. My daughter ordered the Enchilada Salsa Verde entree ($14.95). Basically the same plate as my wifes, but covered with green salsa verde instead of ancho chili sauce and she selected black beans versus refried beans. Just a little spicey heat on the salsa verde, but excellent. Both enchilada dishes were great and the leftovers made great lunches the next day. We will surely go back. The margaritas must be really good here as we saw many being...
