Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Florida

My husband's coworker had been telling him about their full moon pizza deal. Apparently it's a thing with Marco's Pizza. Every full moon you get half off the price of a pizza but only for pick up orders. If you get 2 pizza's, it's like getting a BOGO deal. They've been doing this for many years, but we didn't know about it until last year.

We placed our first order back in early January. It wasn't on a full moon. We just wanted to try it out while watching a football game. The deluxe pizza was just okay. The sauce didn't have much flavor, and the crust was kind of plain. We agreed that the sausage was very good, but the mushrooms were kind of meh. The family size Greek salad was okay too. We just weren't sure why people loved it so much.

Well, we gave it another shot. This time I did a little research. It seems that you really need to embrace the free pizza crust toppers which actually adds more depth to the flavor of the pizza. Our first pizza had no crust toppers. So, on a full moon we ordered the same exact deluxe pizza. But this time, we got the roma seasoning crust topper and added black olives to give it a little more zest. We also decided to try their signature pizza that everyone raves about. That's the Pepperoni Magnifico. This amazing pizza has 2 types of pepperoni, 3 cheeses, and already comes with roma seasoning. It's the roni cups (old world pepperoni) on this specialty pizza that makes it a big hit. I would get this one over and over again. It was spicy and delicious! It's my new favorite pepperoni pizza. The deluxe pizza with the addition of roma seasoning and black olives was also delicious, but the Magnifico is numero uno in my book.

Another fun fact is that Marco's Pizza is the only national chain pizza company that was actually founded by an Italian. I did not know that. The pizza sauce comes from a family recipe. I did not know that either. I'm not sure where the idea of the crust toppers came from, but I'd like to personally thank that person. The pizza really does need it. Just make sure you know what you want when ordering from Marco's. You may have to go through some trial and error to find the right fit for you. Also, do make sure you check out their website for pizza deals. They have some great ones. Oh, and don't even bother ordering delivery on full moon/half price pizza day. They're too busy making pizzas for the folks who are picking up half price pizzas.

We have been ordering from Marco’s for a long time. They have always been on time with their delivery. Well, apparently they’re under new management that doesn’t care if pizza sits in the store until DoorDash decides that it’s worth it.

Today we placed an order at 530 from the Marcos website. We always tip 20% in advance. The order was supposed to be delivered around 615. 630 rolled around and the new estimated time was 640. We checked and Marcos is using Doodash. We had an assigned dasher who was “on his way to the store” since 615. At 650 my order hadn’t been delivered and was still sitting at the store getting cold with no guarantee that it would actually get picked up.

We were given a refund and apparently, new management has decided that DoorDash is the way to go. Well. I can’t rate the dasher for being on the way to the store for a half hour since I didn’t order with DoorDash. My order is apparently not worth the ten dollar (20%) tip.

So an hour and a half later, and I don’t have any food, the dasher wasn’t at the store, and my food had been sitting for at least a half hour.

They were nice enough to refund my money, but this experience is terrible and I won’t be ordering with them if DoorDash is their delivery people. The guy on the phone said that there were NINE orders sitting in the store waiting for DoorDash at the time that I called. That’s not ok.

I ordered pizza for delivery and when it arrived it was made 100% incorrectly! they even had the receipt on the box with how the pizza was supposed to be made and inside the box was a whole different Pizza, and it was wrong! When I called to let them know I was asked if I wanted a refund and I said yes, then I was told well I'm not able to process it from my terminal I'll have to call the owner and have him do it and you will receive a phone call back today...... well it's two days later I haven't heard a single word back nor have I received my refund! Bottom line they don't have any consideration for what you actually order and when they do make a mistake they will not correct it! I do NOT recommend ordering from them and I know I NEVER will again. Worst Pizza...
