I recently visited the McDonald's in Punta Gorda and had a rather mixed experience. While the new Grimace milkshake stood out as a delightful addition to the menu, my overall visit was marred by an unusually long wait time at the drive-thru and errors in my order.
Let's start with the good news. The Grimace milkshake, which boasts a blueberry flavor, was a definite highlight. Its taste was superb, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kudos to McDonald's for introducing such a delicious offering.
However, my positive impression was dampened by the service I encountered during my visit. Upon arriving at the drive-thru, I was surprised by the extended waiting time. As the minutes ticked by, my patience wore thin, and the wait extended way beyond the kind of length one would typically expect from McDonald's.
Unfortunately, when I finally reached the pickup window, I discovered that several items in my order were incorrect. This added to the frustration of the already lengthy wait. Accuracy and attention to detail are important pieces of any order.
As much as I dislike writing less-than-stellar reviews, I must be honest about my overall experience at this particular McDonald's location. Considering the extensive wait time and errors in the order, I can only award it a three-star rating. The Grimace shake was undoubtedly the highlight, but the subpar service detracted from an otherwise enjoyable visit.
I hope that McDonald's takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving their service consistency at...
Read moreIf a McDonald's can get 5 stars, this is it. My food was hot ,fresh ,and made right. The cashier and crew members were not only polite, but they all seemed to be having a good time while getting the job done. Now about the trophy, this loccation won against 19, I did say 19 other McDonald's for excellent service . In order to be awarded this trophy, your drive thru times must be consistently under 2 munutes, from the time the cashier takes your completed order at the drive thru until it is passed over the 2nd window to you. This is based on the number of cars served ( think HUNDREDS thru the day) . hourly sales, total sales for the day and mistakes made. This mistake could be anything from ringing something in wrong( effects your DT time or making an expiditing oops while filling your order.) Remember ,you only have 2 minutes to complete the order and it reaches you and yours in your car. So what does all this mean to you? Hot fresh food( bc they serve enough ppl that your sandwich isn't spending time under the lights getting dried out and gross) 2. The management is fair, competent, and prob.fun to work for. How do I know this? Easy they have staff, which means you don't have excess prob. with turnover . No one wants to work for ungrateful obnoxious boss . Good management shows and translates to happy employees and, in this case, good food ,and it shows...
Read moreStopped in for lunch and went through the drive thru. The wait was kind of long, but it turns out that was because the girl taking the orders at the first window was so sick she could hardly speak. At the second window, they told me it would be a minute then asked me to pull ahead a little bit. A few minutes later, a woman comes out carrying a bag, but instead of coming to my car, she goes to parking space off to the side. When she sees that no one is in it, she comes to me:
Her: "Are you the one waiting for food? I checked that car over there but there's no one in it and that's the spot reserved for people waiting." Me: "Yes, I'm waiting. I didn't know that spot was for waiting, the girl at the window just told me to pull ahead." Her: "Oh. Well in that case I need you verify everything you ordered."
And she made me do so down to the last extra pickle on my cheeseburger.
Basically, if she hadn't thought to check the car waiting where her coworker had told the car to wait, she would have given away my food to someone else.
I will not be coming back to this one unless I'm desperate. There's a Burger King, Arby's, Waffle House, and a couple of Subways closeby. I'll go anywhere else before I come back...
