The McDonald's in Lutz is the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. I go there because I live not too far away and overall, I like McDonald's food. I'm going to assume most of the people reading this are familiar with what U.S. McDonalds' serve, so I won't bother going over the menu options as most of the time the food here is edible. I'll just comment on the service (or lack thereof). This is a small restaurant. It only has one drive thru lane. Because there were about 8 cars already in line and I didn't see anyone waiting inside, I parked my car and went in. As with most McDonald's now, they have a screen where you can order without going to the counter. Unfortunately you can only use it if you are prepaying with a credit or debit card. I'm an old fashioned 50's baby and I prefer human interaction and I opted for the counter. There was a sign at the one open cashier that stated they would only take cash. Luckily I had cash. I used a coupon giving me a free quarter pounder w/cheese or a Big Mac with purchase of another. My order consisted of 2 qpwc's and one bm. (OK that sounds weird, but I'm sticking with it.) There was a lady that was there before I ordered that had come in because they forgot to put sauce in her bag. She told the guy at the counter what she wanted, he said ok and walked off, I guess to get her sauce. A few minutes later, someone else came to the counter and asked her if she had been helped. By then there were three other customers that had placed orders. She told him what she needed and, get this, he reached right under the counter where he was standing and got her sauce! Will someone please explain to me why the first guy didn't know to do that? Another customer came in and ordered fries. I had given her an extra coupon I had that offered a free bakery item with any $1.00 purchase so she added a bakery item. The bakery items are right on the counter above the sauce. Two other people received their food before she did. One of them had ordered after her and had fries as part of their order. These are not isolated incidents. I said I live close by and I pick up food every few weeks. My order came hot and correct. I waited a little over 5 minutes or so. The food was ok. The inside is small with about 10 booths. I don't eat there so I'm not really sure. I can't say I've ever used their bathroom. The floors and tables are clean. Service sucks most of the time both inside and at the drive thru, but because this restaurant is close I'll keep...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stopped at the McDonald's located at 106 Crystal Grove Blvd, Lutz, FL 33549 on my way home last night (around 7:20 PM) to grab a simple dinner. I ordered a small cheeseburger, fries, and a Coke, but was told they were out of Coke, so I replaced it with a Sprite. I also ordered a Crispy Chicken Deluxe, medium fries, and a chocolate shake since they didnāt have Coke.
From the moment I placed my order, things started going downhill. Even though there were only two cars ahead of me, it took 12 minutes just to reach the first window to pay. As I got closer, I could hear yelling and doors slamming insideāthe staff was openly arguing with each other. The young employee taking my payment looked extremely uncomfortable, clearly caught in the middle of whatever was going on behind him.
Then came another 5ā8 minute wait before the first car in line even moved forward. Once they did, it still took another 5 minutes for them to get their order and leave. When I finally got to the second window, the staff was still arguing, completely ignoring customers. I received my small cheeseburger and fries after about 3 minutes but then had to wait another 10 minutes for my Chicken Deluxeāonly to be handed a plain chicken sandwich and a Big Mac instead.
By the time I left, I had been stuck in the drive-thru for over 20 minutes, with only two cars ahead of me. Not once did anyone apologize for the delay, acknowledge my wait, or even say a simple "thank you." The lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and sheer disorganization were unacceptable.
To make matters worse, this isnāt the first time Iāve had issues with this location. Over the past few visits (excluding last night), Iāve noticed the fries and drinks taste differentāsomething is off with the quality control.
After this experience, I wonāt be returning. Thereās now a Chick-fil-A just a little further down the road, and Iāll be taking my business there instead.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI give these folks 3 stars because some days they just can't seem to get it right, some days its spot on. Today, I order a an egg and cheese biscuit and a hash brown which is something order on regular basis at this store. The person on the speaker sounds slightly confused and asks "Do you want to pull to the first window?" I think, "I guess so if I want to pay for my food unless it's going to be free." I get to the window and the cashier says a sausage biscuit and something. He has to call over a manager because I guess he does not know punch my order in. So finally I get my total which usually has been $3.30 but just went up 12 cents in the last week, which I get since inflation seems to be starting to kick in (hopefully not hyper-inflation from all the quantitative easing by the Fed). I give him $5.52 and I get a dime back. So then he has to call a manager to open the register to give me my $2. As I pull up to the pickup window, I see that he gave me $3. I give the dollar back to the manager at that window. Not sure what the deal is, but it gets real frustrating when I have to repeat my order multiple times and then have go through an ordeal...
