Today October 8th 2019 @6pm came to this restaurant out side looks nice and updated but inside looks a mess so was the Staff I don’t speak Spanish so my experience trying to communicate with Any employees was horrible Because no employees talks or even understand English not even the manager speaks English they tried to understand what I wanted to order even when I pointed to what I wanted they still didn’t understand. I asked for a manager but the manager was the one rushing to serve me and was getting distraught distracted disappointed because she didn’t understand what I was ordering they messed up my order 3 times so they had to go call the cook to come to the front to help me he was the only one that spoke English wow it was so embarrassing and disappointed because all employees was at my location trying to speak English and everyone was yelling and talking over each other in Spanish the manager was clueless and had no control of her staff or the situation or everyone customers service in this location is very disappointing . After all the commotion I get my food for my family total 4 plates 2 adults 2 children ages 3 and 4 . Food was cold rice was cold Chicken was cold beans was cold Everything was a disaster I asked to get my money back and it was another dilemma If I only knew what they was saying in Spanish I think I would of been calling the police because a customer sitting next to me said that all employees was degrading and insulting me in Spanish but since I didn’t understand nothing they was saying me and my family just left to another RESTAURANT....STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT NOT...
Read moreJust left the place. Let me start with the good: the mofongo meals and pastries that we got were amazing. Great taste, great portions, especially for the price (cheap, in my opinion).
Now on to the bad. While most of the staff were helpful and nice, we encountered an issue when we pointed out that they had messed up one of our orders. The cashier ordered something completely different for my friend and then she looked upset when we reclaimed it, even though we were trying to be as nice and understanding as possible. They then told us that it would take no more than 10 additional minutes to correct the order. After 20 minutes I inquired about the food, again in a soft tone, only to be brashly told by another member to wait because it would be out soon. She probably realized how rude she had been because she added a "mi amor" almost as an afterthought. After 5 more minutes my friend nicely asked them to give her her money back, when all of a sudden, a third different member pulled out the food, and presented it to her in mocking gesture.
I felt ashamed as a friend to have suggested the place and as a puertorican for this inexplicable attitude. Service and environment are a must for me when it comes to any restaurant so I will make sure to never come here again as well as tell my friends...
Read moreI absolutely love El Melao Bakery. This place is amazing and the food is incredible. I've tried lots of places, but El Melao is a step above. The atmosphere here is amazing. The staff treats you like family, and they are very respectful and courteous. The variety of different authentic Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 dishes is of the chart, so much to choose from, and you can also order "a la carte" from the menu. The prices are very reasonable and they give a nice portion of food. They also have a good variety of drinks from Puerto Rico like Malts, CocoRico, and Uvita "Old Colony." I came to visit my mother for 3 weeks and literally came to El Melao every single day, sometimes twice a day. The bakery side is amazing. The quesitos, guava pastries, flan, tembleque, cakes, guava cheesecake, and so many other sweets are incredible. Not to mention "pan sobao" fresh Puerto Rican bread baked daily. Did I mention that nice Christian atmosphere with music playing in the background. They even have their own radio station. There are 2 locations one in Kissimmee and one in Orlando. The only negative thing is that the parking is small and it can be hard to find a spot at times because it's always packed with people. But I guess that's a good sign. I love this place! I which there was a Melao in every...
