NEW REVIEW FROM VISIT 2 - 2 weeks later. While driving to Cow for our 2nd visit, I said to my husband, I don't understand how anyone can leave them a negative review. We had such a great exeprience. Now I Understand.
We went again, same day, dame time of day, and even ordered almost all the same meals for the 4 of us. It was a wholly different experience. Our server needs training. She lacks customer service skills. She is a nice enough person, but needs training. You don't ask the custoemr what you can get them, then swivel your head to holler at a coworker to get the door while your customer is giving you their order, and then ask them to repeat themselves. This was only one "offence" of many. NIce girl. Needs training.
Water delivered with no ice or lime. Asked for ice. Given a cup of ice with no way to transfer it to our cups. No cutlery on table yet. 1 set cutlery dirty on arrival.
Ordered coffee. Again no milk or cream (even though I saw her carrying milk from bar fridge to back. Perhaps kitchen needed it or it was expired. Americano's were watery this time. Not rich and smooth like last visit.
Some food was delivered cold, but they re-heated it and apologized. The Picanha was no where near as good this visit over last. Neither was the caesar salad. New item this time was the burger, and it was exceptional.
Our overall experience was so poor that we skipped dessert. We literally said afraid to order since everything was so lackluster compared to visit 2 weeks ago.
Due to inconsistency in service and food, we doubt we will return. MAYBE they had a very busy night for Valentine's the night before and didn't properly prep for Sat lunch service, but I'm not willing to spend over $100 to find out.
Very cute Valentine's day decor though! Great job on that!
ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM VISIT 1: Exceptional! From food to decor to service, Cow is worth the one hour 15 mintue drive we made to check it out.
Parking lot is small in an unassuming plaza.
Immediately on entrance, you will be wowed by the unique decor. They pay attention to details. The quality napkins, the custom tables, the unique glassware, lighting, music, decor - every detail added to the experience.
Note: AC is on high so bring a sweater.
Washrooms are immaculate.
We were 4 adults for lunch and enjoyed filet mignon, picanha and churros. All food was prepared beautifully, served hot and fresh. The chimichurri sauce for the picanha was exceptional. Steak cooked perfectly. Yuca fries and dip sauce delicious. Caesar salad with perfectly balanced dressing was a win. House salad with vinegraite was crisp and refreshing. Churros with caramel and nutella sauce were a perfect end to an excellent meal.
BTW, the coffee is smooth, bold, delicious. But if you drink it with half n half or cream, be aware that they only have milk.
Our server was Jowne and he has attentive, never obtrusive. Very polite.
Lunch was $165ish with tax + tip for the 4 of us. Be aware, gratuity is automatically added. I normally hate that approach, but the team at Cow did everything right, so no star deductions.
Wish it was closer. I would go often. ...
Read moreMy family of 5 decided to book a last minute reservation through OpenTable for Cow Steakhouse (which was our first time at this place might I add) and although the vibes/ambience were pretty on par, I had a few issues with eating at this place. For starters, the food was not the best. We had ordered the cheese sticks and garlic shrimp with garlic toast for the table as appetizers and to be honest, it tasted like the appetizers were bought from your local grocery store and warmed up in a microwave/air fryer. The garlic shrimp was the better of the two, but it lacked seasoning. As for dinner, three out of five family members ordered steak (2 - ribeye and 1 - NY Strip Steak) and the steak was bland, despite it coming with a side of chimichurri and being cooked fairly well. It was as if no seasoning was placed on the steak before or after it was cooked. To build on this, the price we paid for the food wasn't worth the quality received. The other two family members ordered pasta and although it wasn't horrible, it wasn't something they raved about either. They, too, agreed that their food was not worth the price (imagine paying $50 dollars for chicken parm).
On the other hand, my family and I didn't appreciate the slow service that we received from our server. I do not recall the name of our server, as he was barely around, but I felt as if he was very inattentive to our table (requiring us to get his attention a couple of times), which included but was not limited to, making sure that our drinks were refilled, providing us with plates and silverware to eat the food at the table (Our appetizers arrived before we even got beverages and utensils). Not to mention, due to the loud music playing, it was very hard to hear the server and the other employee who were passing out the food when it was brought to our table.
Lastly, we also were not aware of the 18% gratuity that was automatically added to the check due to their policy stating "a group of 1 or larger" will have gratuity added on to the check. With the many restaurants I have been to, restaurants typically add gratuity on if you had a large party of 6 or more. However, this particular restaurant automatically adds a gratuity to a group of "1 or larger" which gives the impression that even with poor service, we're expected to tip an exuberant amount.
I honestly will not be coming back to this place or recommending...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place 5 stars after reading the good reviews and seeing the photos but unfortunately, I can’t bring myself to do it. We were seated very promptly and there was just only one other table seated so very quiet at the time we went. Our drinks were brought quickly after they were ordered. I was disappointed to find that the Sushi is only available AFTER 6:00PM. I don’t recall seeing that on their website but I could’ve missed it. Since I went with a craving for the sushi and was unable to get it, I ordered a chicken Cesar salad and my husband got the Cow Burger. The server never asked how he wanted it cooked so my husband made sure to say “Medium”. We also ordered the beef empanadas for our appetizer. Well, the food eventually came out after 25/30 minutes which is a bit long for a burger with fries and a salad and with only one other table seated. When the food was brought out, I asked about our appetizer and the server said it would be out very soon. I watched him walk over to the register and I’m confident he forgot and had to put the order in. It took maybe 15 minutes until we got them. Now, I love beef empanadas but these are not the best. I’m not sure what cut of beef they are using but I found a lot of fat in them and the pieces are diced small and they were chewy. Also, super small for the price we paid, $13.00. The burger my husband got was cooked well done, not medium but he said the flavor was good. My salad was just, well a salad. The chicken unfortunately was a bit on the dry side. I will say the atmosphere is super nice and inviting but there are tables directly in front of the stage where they have live music. I’m very confident that it would be crazy loud if you sat there during the live music, so just be cautious of that. Prices seemed a bit high for the food but then again, it is a steak house. We most likely will not be back, but maybe we will try for dinner service and see how the steaks are. Also, they add 18% gratuity no matter the size of your party, so be sure to keep that in mind when/if you decide to tip anything additional. I wouldn’t come...
