I don't know where to begin. Firstly, let me explain that I have great expectations when it comes to Thai food and very seldom do I happen across a restaurant that makes it into my top 10 favorite National spots to eat. I've had Thai food from Florida to New York across the Midwest to Seattle, including an obscure place and Utah in the middle of nowhere called Dave's Thai food. I guess you could say that I am an expert. My Thai, ties for first place out of all the Thai food I have had in the United States. Not just because when we entered the restaurant, three generations a family were sitting Under One Roof together, running the joint, but the amount of food that you get for the price, the quality of the food, the care that's taken when the food is cooked and the love that you receive from the people that bring it to you just can't be beat. Its location can be a little deceiving and I would hate to go as far as calling this place a hole in the wall but it's located in the corner of a strip mall and the first impression from the outside, pales in comparison to what you get as soon as you walk in the door... and I'm glad because of everybody in town knew what now outstanding little place this restaurant was, there would be a line around the block and we probably wouldn't have been able to sit down for dinner last night. I actually feel a little guilty posting this extraordinary review in fear of ruining the quaintness and culinary perfection that My Thai has to offer, selfishly wanting to keep it all to myself. I had the green curry which was splendid, chicken satay which was cooked perfectly and juicy, Tom ka coconut soup which knocked my socks off, my baby mama had Pad Thai and we both agree that it was the best we've ever had. There aren't enough thumbs to give this place the thumbs-up it deserves. Feel free to go but please don't tell too many people because I'm going to be mad if I have to wait next time I want to visit my favorite...
Read moreI'm not going to fault the restaurant by not getting a decent star rating because of my preferences but I've had alot of excellent Pad Thai Chicken in my life and this just didn't make my top 5.
I based my shopping trip one day around being near this restaurant as I had read all the reviews as having the best Pad Thai. I wouldn't drive 30 minutes for it again. The fresh rolls were excellent with just the right amount of crunch and freshness and the peanut sauce was very good for dipping. But the Pad Thai was a bit disappointing. It was a huge serving, easily could feed 3-4 people a good portion with a spring roll or something else on the side. I noticed the color of the Sauce was a deep brown almost as if was heated too high and started to burn. The chicken was extremely dry and flavorless. After eating it, I had a horrible bitter after taste in my mouth that I just couldn't get rid of. It really tasted burnt. The lady at the front desk is the sweetest and they have a really nice menu, but this dish was very disappointing. I would suggest maybe , putting the bean sprouts and garnish in a separate plastic bag when packaging take out because the bean sprouts were really soggy as were the green onions .
I may give them a try as a sit down customer and see if it was just a bad batch. But I lost my Pad Thai...
Read moreWow!!! First of all, I love Thai food. It’s my favorite type of food. I’ve tried Thai restaurants in many different cities and countries. I’ve lived several years in SE Asia, so I’ve experienced amazing Thai food in Thailand itself. I’m very particular about what good Thai food should taste like. Let me tell you, this is it! I picked this restaurant for my birthday dinner based on it’s amazing Google reviews, and I’m so glad I did! There were five of us. For appetizers we had the fresh spring rolls, chicken satay, shrimp mee krob, and crab Rangoon’s. Everything was delicious. For my entree, I ordered the pad Thai. It was one of the best pad Thais I’ve ever eaten! I also got a chance to try all my table mate’s entrees, and they were all delicious as well. The portions are gigantic! Since we were celebrating both my boyfriend and I’s birthday, the staff brought out Thai donuts and fried bananas free of charge. Mmmmmm. Did I mention how friendly the staff were? They joked with my family the whole night, and were the cherry on top of the whole experience. I live about an hour away from Bradenton, but this place is worth the drive. I will be back. Thank you for an amazing...
