We came here for lunch on my sons 6th birthday. He wanted to eat fish for his birthday meal. I’m so glad we did this. For starters, the building and location are unassuming. It’s tucked away from the main road just a little. I had just happened to stumble across it one day, while taking my oldest son to work. I read up on the restaurant on Google and noticed it has New England based seafood. So when my son said he wanted fish, we decided to give this place a try, not knowing what to expect.
When we walked in, we were greeted by our waitress, Linda. She was a happy and personable person. The decor was very pleasant and was much more than we expected. Tables were clean and inviting. The place has several patrons but there was still plenty of seating available.
As we walked into the restaurant, I noticed a table with several patrons eating huge stuffed lobsters that looked absolutely incredible. Some of the biggest I’ve seen outside of New England!
We sat at our table and surveyed the menu. I was beside myself. They had foods I have not seen outside of the New England area, or at least in Florida. They had stuffed Quohog, which I haven’t seen since I went to Rhode Island. They also had fried smelt, which I’ve never seen outside of England. Their menu items were Cod as the main fish dish, but there was a large selection of a variety of foods including two different types of boils.
My wife and I both ordered the baked cod. She had the scallops and shrimp. My 6 year old ordered the fried cod. The pricing is comparable for what you are getting. Sandwiches are cheaper with the seafood being more as to be expected.
Now mind you, the food is cooked to order so it might take a little longer than usual for the food to arrive, but it is well worth it! The food looked and smelled delicious. The cod was melt in your mouth buttery. My wife devoured her meal quickly as she remarked on how delicious it was. I too ate my food faster than usual as it really was delightful.
During the course of the meal, we were visited by Linda. The owner, Tracey and her daughter, Amber multiple times. Clearly this place is family owned and operated. We made idle chit chat that was very pleasant. They really are wonderful human beings. They included my kids in the conversation and made them feel happy and welcome.
We are so very happy we picked this place to eat for my sons birthday. It was an all around great experience and we will most certainly be back!
The only down side is that this place is open seasonally, so we will have to wait a few months to return to our favorite New England cuisine.
Thank you Linda, Tracey and Amber for the wonderful food, memories and...
Read moreI’ve heard wonderful things about this cute little place. I went there with my girlfriend today and we sat at the bar for lunch. Our Server was Amber, who was just lovely and very sweet. The menu was just incredible! So many things to choose from. But being from Massachusetts, I was there for the whole belly clams. Just perfection as well as it being a huge portion. My friend had the lobster roll which was huge and looked absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go back there with my husband. He’s gonna love it.
Funny how it’s such a small world. I got chatting with the owner Tracy and found out that we were neighbors when we both lived in Northport. She also is from Massachusetts.😊 This will be our new place for New England seafood. Don’t pass it up! It’s fabulous.😊
Thank you, Tracy and Amber for wonderful...
Read moreDidn't have to wait long but we got there early and place was already packed. Everyone in our group said the food was AMAZING & got 2 orders to go. Didn't have to wait too long for food, thought it was reasonable for the amount of ppl there. Took more time to get the bill but wasn't waitress fault place was slammed! Shame they're only open 2.5 days & close for season come may 17th or so we were told. The worst part honestly was the live entertainment. It was good music but very loud in a small place so made it difficult to carry a conversation. Highly recommend & will be back next year. Being from MA was thrilled to have...
