I cannot speak for all the reviews on this page. However, please ignore the one-star review that says "cockroach city". I was the guest that she was talking about and all I can tell you was I was appalled by her behavior! She was out of hand and she went behind the bar to complain about the bartender. Any, bar that I have been too has never allowed a customer behind the bar. I'm pretty sure that is a rule any where. The bartender was more than generous and did not lay a single hand on this person! As far as cockroaches, we were sitting outside and she happened to see one cockroach that was very far away from our outside table. This is Florida. People may see some insects occasionally outside. Also, people are probably going to see other various animals outside! Again, this is Florida and we were at the outside dining section. She was rude very opinionated! She was also very rude to other customers and the guest she was referring to was me. The establishment is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Johnny the owner does a great job! This person was also very mean to other guests. I am upset that I even brought her to this fine establishment. The only reason why I give them 4 out of 5 stars is because I feel that all places should strive to always do better. And, off the rock always tries to do better yet even they know they're not perfect! Although they're pretty close. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to go. Either to the bar like cheers "where everyone knows their your name". Or, if you're just looking for a quick meal and a quick drink. It's also very family oriented and has many menu options. Please do not listen to the "cockroach" post. About it being "cockroach city". It is false! I will tell you firsthand it's a very clean and great establishment and again the only reason why it doesn't have five stars for me is because no one or no...
Read moreDeciding to choose an open air bar on a rainy day may seem like a poor mistake, but given the comfort of table side fires and attentive staff, it is one worth the gamble. With a warm greeting from the hostess and the bar staff, one can fully indulge into the drink specials and appetizing menu selection without regret. On this thunderous, lightly drizzled evening, a comfort from the jumbo crab stuffed mushrooms paired with the coconut toasted martini will give one the blissful escape that Naples has to offer. The tenderness of the mushroom blends with the perfectly cooked crab and shrimp stuffing, covered in lobster sherry cream sauce, adding a draw from retreat through its subtle yet welcoming rich blend of properly executed technique. With a fresh coconut and chocolate blend, the martini further amplifies the palate of smooth and creaminess giving one an invitation to mesmerize in the delicacies. Followed by a performance from snow crab legs and steak fajitas, the Rock Candy Mojito provides that ease into a cool atmosphere contrary to the static in the air, with a choice between corn and flower tortillas, the flower adds to the amplified environment giving it a more welcoming vibe, pushing towards the home feeling that guest can replicate. Given the draw from the sweetness of the mojito, it compliments well with the snow crab legs, which is a special of the day. Steaming fresh and hot, one can escape from the realm of discomfort to experience the joys of the sea. Flames of the fajitas, add to the regularity of the experience one can encounter on a regular basis at Off the Rock Tavern. To fully describe the experience one can encounter would not do it just, stop in and provide the discrepancies yourselves. A sports bar that goes beyond its...
Read moreDisappointing experience. Went for the advertised lobster roll. Server was confused as to whether they offered it at all and there was no mention as to how it was prepared. We tried to get our server back to table to ask about whether it was a warm lobster roll ( with butter - as we preferred) or served cold ( mayo/salad), but could not get her attention. By the time she came to our table and checked with the kitchen we were told it was too late ... it was already made (???) unfortunately was served cold ... as a salad. It had a lot of shredded lettuce and celery and very little lobster meat. Note: There are many places in Naples that offer lobster rolls which are prepared warm ( "Connecticut Style" with butter). There is no hiding a lack of lobster meat behinds shredded lettuce/celery with a warm lobster roll. Hubby's fried grouper basket with fries was ok ... nothing special, and rather pricey for $19.95 given the portion size. Note: bill came with a 3% "convenience fee" tacked on. When we asked what this was our server told us it was for using a credit card. We intended to pay cash and server had to go back and recreate a new bill without the "automatic" upcharge. Do not know any restaurant in Naples that puts a 3% upcharge on the bill because they "assume you will NOT pay cash". The practice of automatically putting an extra 3% on every bill before they ask the customer if they are going to pay cash ... is...
