Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Lely

Where do I begin: Rude general manager Inability to take an order that’s beyond the regular ingredients. I never had an issue with this location before, except for having to repeat my order sometimes to certain individuals. But, today the GM did not show GM quality behavior. Pretty much implying I was lying about how I told her my order. After repeating the same order almost 5 times I was frustrated and asked for a refund. It’s a shame because I love Tropical smoothie and this location for its drive through option and proximity to my home. However, after this morning, I doubt I will ever return if that woman GM is working the morning shift. Her inability to understand an order, unable to rectify the order she couldn’t understand, and offensive behavior is not typical of everyone else at this location. If it’s burnout or just not her day, I should not have had such an issue for just 3 smoothies.

Update: I have gone back after that awful encounter and the staff has definitely improved. I would give it 5 stars, but unfortunately they still sometimes miss ingredients when making customization orders. I truly appreciate the food and drive-thru accessibility. Just remember to be patient because they make everything fresh. Make sure they put fresh fruit on your bowls. And, not one that was made previously and...

My husband and I frequented this place often. Found out that after your total is verbalized to you, the actual total is with the employees adding a tip for themselves. The last time our card was taken $4+ dollars added and when I talked to the “manager” who was a shift leader, he tried to convince me that I placed my card in the machine and added a tip, which was totally untrue. Got home, didn’t have salad dressing, called and instead of offering anything free, I was supposed to drive 15 minutes back to get my dressing. If you’re looking for a quick and efficient drive-thru, go somewhere else. Multiple times I’ve visited this location while there are only a few vehicles in line, and was made to wait far longer than what is considered acceptable. During this most recent visit, we chose to actually leave the line after waiting for 10 minutes behind only two other cars. They hadn’t even taken our order yet! We went right down the road to Burger King and we were met with efficient service and a positive drive-thru experience.
