Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza - Bradenton — Restaurant in Florida

Three strikes, you’re out. We gave this restaurant 3 solid tries since they were recommended so highly, however, we will never be returning to this restaurant again.

I was honestly quite surprised to see such a high rating on Google considering all of my experiences have been awful. I never take the time to leave a review but since there are so many “good reviews” (I’m sure there are a lot of friends and family leaving baseless 5star reviews like most places do) I needed to let others know not to even waste their time here! Michaelangelos is down the street and has better tasting pizza, that doesn’t take over an hour to make!!

Our first time visiting was for dinner, we waited over an hour for our food. Tables who sat after we had ordered were getting their food and leaving before we even received our food! Our waitress never checked in with us and was a horrible server. A manager finally came to our table and said one of the dishes “didn’t turn out right” and offered us something different while we waited. Shortly after we received our food. When we inquired about the original dish ordered, they apologized for the miscommunication but did not remake the dish because they thought we wanted something else instead. Once we received the check, we were charged for all the items so we spoke to the manager again and had the “different” item comped since it was not what we originally ordered.

Our second visit was for lunch, this time we only ordered pizzas thinking, there’s no way they can mess that up. Yet again, our food took over an hour for us to get. Again a manager came to us to apologize for the delay.

I already decided that this restaurant has horrible service, kitchen is always delayed and food is sub par, however my mom wanted to try it out. I reluctantly went with her. When we walked in, the restaurant was completely empty minus a couple at the bar, I thought to myself, this is their chance to redeem themselves! We ordered a margherita pizza and a kids cheese pizza. We got our pizzas shortly after, the waitress (same one from my first visit) simply placed it in the table, said “here you go” and walked away. My mom and I looked and only saw cheese and tomatoes. When our server walked by we asked if there was basil on the pizza, in which she replied “o we ran out.” (A- a pizza shop knows a margherita pizza w out basil is not a margherita pizza, and B- their margherita does not have any sauce, so we received dough, mozzarella and slices of tomatoes.) my mom said well we ordered a margherita pizza, in which she replied, that is a margherita pizza, we just ran out of basil. -_- Her demeanor was very frustrating, as if nothing was wrong.

Considering my history w Piesano’s, we were very unhappy and annoyed at how it was handled, or lack thereof really. If you order spaghetti and meatballs you should not receive just noodles bc you ran out of meatballs. The server should have told us as soon as she realized there was no basil so we could change our order at the very least. Not drop the pizza off as if we are getting what we ordered....

We arrived at 4:45 pm on a Saturday night. We were greeted and sat immediately. The establishment was not crowded but had several tables used. Nick our server came and took our drink and food order. Our drinks arrived quickly a Stella on tap and ice tea. We had to ask for more ice as the tea was still warm (not a big deal). Nick brought out garlic bread that was covered in Italian dressing and garlic and parmesan that really was fantastic. They were soft and cooked perfect. Those rolls set the whole diner experience up. We order a small white pizza that had ricotta, mozzarella and fresh spinach and parmesan on it. Wife said it was good but could have used more seasoning. I ordered the meat eater w/ pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, bacon, ham and mozzarella. It was really good. Both pies were hot and the crust was pretty good, The crust was crispy but it is a flat crust. Most stone fired pizzas we have had are the ones that bubbles up and get a little chared on the bubbles. The top and bottom of the pies had that char on it which makes it a pretty decent pie. I guess I like the crust Tha bubbles up. Nick was a great and was a friendly server and was attentive to our needs. The manager Tom was friendly and a nice guy. This is a.nice restaurant with a decent bar if your thirsty. All the staff I saw was working pretty hard. The place did pretty much fill up on the inside before we left 5:30. They have their on carryout section that you don't have to come inside the restaurant it looks like. This is a 4.5 ⭐ place to get your pie on. $42.00 for food and tip. I only drink one beer so it'll be more $ for more drinks. Would I recommend Piesanos? I am 👍👍 Right now. Will I go back? Yes😎😎. ...

We have ordered take out here a couple times and enjoyed the food. Tonight we decided to dine in......BIG MISTAKE! We were seated at approximately 7:40 and were not even greeted until almost 10 minutes later. Our waitress never acknowledged us or even apologized that we sat there for that long. She took our drink order and food order at the same time, offered us rolls and left. I ordered the Garlic Broccoli Capellini WITH chicken, my husband order a large pepperoni pizza. Our food was delivered by another waitress and when I noticed that the chicken was missing I tried calling her back but kept walking away. I waited for our waitress to come back and told her the chicken was missing. She went back to the kitchen to get the chicken and assured us they were making it fresh. 15 minutes we sat there and never was offered a refill on our drinks or even brought out my chicken. My husband went and found our waitress to let her know we are leaving and will take the food to go. Waitress comes with our bill informs us that the chicken was taken off the bill because once again no chicken was ever brought out!!! My husband and I have both worked in the resturant business and currently own our own business, the service and there lack of is mind blowing!!
