Unfortunately, this had to be by far my worst Popeyes experience ever. I do not recommend this store to anyone within the area or passing by as me and my husband was. We frequent popeyes and felt that we’d stop at this location for lunch on our trip from south Florida to Tampa.
Upon arrival, there was no other patron in the drive thru. We were told to hold when pulling up to the kiosk. We waited roughly 8-10 minutes and asked if anyone was still there with no response. After receiving no response, my husband noticed many of the workers, wearing gray button down popeyes attire, outside standing in the parking lot. We assumed them to be management as those who wear gray button downs in our area typically are managers. I wish I would have taken a photo for further reference.
Continuing, since no one responded, we decided to go inside and order our lunch. Staff had no regard for any of the other patrons waiting inside. A young lady had been waiting 30min just on an Uber eats order, which staff incompetently pieced together, and did not provide her entire order to her. Several other patrons before us waited on simple items due to what seemed like staff’s incompetence to timely complete a transaction and provide the items ordered.
As my husband and I finally got our turn to the counter, we attempted to order our food. A simple and typical order of ours (crispy chicken sandwich just the sandwich and a three piece mild just the chicken two thighs and a breast). It seemed the young lady taking our order may have been new and we continued to have patience throughout our entire transaction. It wasn’t until one of the employees, who seemed to be a manager as she was wearing a gray button down, came to assist the young lady with our order. She paid no attention to what we requested constantly asking what our order was and swiping her card to start the order over. As we explained for the fourth time our order, she then cuts us off explaining we needed to wait to inform her of the second part of our order, as she was inputting the first, which was JUST a chicken sandwich.
After her snippy attitude presented itself, and lack of regard for the patrons or their time, my patience wore thin. She then informed me there would be a wait on the chicken I asked for when we could clearly see the racks were full. I asked if she had the chicken I ordered in spicey and she then ignores me moving to help another customer during our transaction. She then tells me she has no chicken, mind you the racks were full. Needless to say, we canceled the order and walked away.
If I could give no stars, I would because the staff nor manager/shift leader had no regard for any patron that walked into this location. If you are a regular customer of popeyes, and appreciate the good quality of customer service you may be use to, I highly recommend staying away from this popeyes location. It’s embarrassing when someone of a higher position doesn’t exude excellence and great customer service, for the company they represent, or for the company who’s placed their faith in that person to nail the position given. Mind you, this poor customer service transaction transpired in front of the staff member I mentioned earlier who seemed to be new to the job. Not a good look for popeyes or...
Read moreThe commercials are pretty cool and you get the feeling of being all jazzed up like if eating fried chicken or shrimp in NOLa! Furthest thing from Canal Street or the truth at Popeye's on Kings Highway.
The service always slow like molasses, as there are never enough people working (counter & kitchen), never enough chicken or other items prepared, the soda dispenser, on the lobby side, has been down for weeks, and worst of all, the team members are miserable and offer no customer service (maybe it's moral, overwhelming conditions etc.??? Not the customer's problem but turns into it when they don't get their chicken)
Just today, there were only 3 people working. One cashier/order taker, a cook and one person preparing orders.
Meanwhile, there were at least 10 people waiting or wanting to order. Two gentlemen got upset as they were waiting to order and claimed to not have been greeted after 5 minutes. One of them scolded the cashier emphasizing importance of customer service, greeting customers, and not ignoring them after minutes of waiting. Both of them ended up leaving. The cashier..... unmoved & uninspired.
Two gentlemen speaking, mentioned that this location is always like this and very frustrating. Hence, will be moving business to another local fried chicken establishment.
Another customer demanded a refund after waiting over 20 minutes for an order.
Another who received their order, was upset it was incorrectly done /missing items.
A customer I spoke with indicated that she had been waiting 35 minutes for her order, however, being a group order for her 2nd shift coworkers, could not leave. She also mentioned past displeasure with this local & moving her future business elsewhere.
In conclusion, if you do 🎶love that chicken from Popeye's 🎶, as the TV jingle says, pack a lunch as you will wait (Perhaps a Chick-fil-A sandwich..LOL) Don't bother trying to go to another Popeye's location as the closest is in North Port, and, if not fully closed, partially closed, or out of racked unfrozen chicken to cook (as happened recently), is not a much better option.
I will be trying Krispy Krunchy Chicken (a half mile from the Kings Highway Popeye's) which many have recommended highly, and said it is better tasting.. Otherwise, will...
Read moreIs a new location that just opened up last year. Inside all is new and working. Great location close to I75 and kings hwy. Very busy location with good spicy or mild chicken. If you like chicken you know of Popeye's chicken and shrimp. That's all good and nice. Now comes the other side of the coin. This location is very busy and the management is not up to the task and the people behind the counter are not willing or able to do the work. Last experience was Tuesday, February 19, around 6 pm. There was a long line at the drive through so I decided to go inside. In front of me were just 2 people. I counted 7 people behind the counter from which 2 work the drive trough, one is cleaning the floor (crazy with all the chicken uncovered and exposed) and the other 4 just looking busy and doing nothing. Here comes a lady employee, fast and upset because she can't find paper for the cash register to print the receipts. After 10 minutes the line did not move a bit. Finally, after countless trips back and forth from the back of the store and being red and mad and mumbling constantly, she starts to take orders and after 16 minutes since I entered the store it's my turn. I order the 2 for $10, 5 tenders, fries and beans with rice. In 2 minutes my order is ready and out the door on I75 I go. My friend is driving so I start eating. No fries, no spoon or fork. Lesson learned here. This was my experience at this store on this particular day. I like the chicken here so I will go again. For the only person that was helping the line in the store, the lady did fine by me. I am not upset that I didn't get the fries or the "spork". Thank you...
