Worst experience ever!!! This will be my last time coming here. This will be my third time coming here. First two times was ok. This time was horrible. I came in last week on a rainy Tuesday. It was empty I was craving some Thai food so I decided to stop by after work. I was seated by a nice gentleman who was at the reception desk. The waiter came to greet me and take my order. . She was very nice... so I was patiently waiting while the young gentlemen was in the waiter teaching her how to run the computer and what not which was very nice of him just trying to make her feel comfortable I thought that was very sweet of him.. then the manager came out talking down to him telling him not to teach her this and that and saying it's too much information she won't be able to learn etc.. that made me feel not at all comfortable but whatever... I ordered a hot sake/water, steam gyoza for appetizer and a pho noodle bowl . The gentleman bought out my sake and warn me that it was very hot and to be careful. Then the waiter came with my steam gyoza. The plate didn't look very appetizing nor was it hot . I know it wasn't the waiters fault but I sent the plate back because it was cold and not hot. The manager proceed to asked her why I sent it back she said cause it wasn't hot enough for her. So she goes in the back and started talking loudly to the cooks in the back Which made me feel uncomfortable cause i sent the plate back. A new plate came back an it was the same thing cold not even warm. So the gentleman came and apologized and took the plate back the manager then yelled from afar saying to me " ITS STILL NOT HOT ITS CAME FROM THE STEAMER WHY ISN'T HOT WHY DONT YOU EAT IT. So I turned around and told her I'm not trying to cause any problems but I'm not happy with this at all. I don't want it anymore. So the gentleman came to make sure if I was ok I told him I'm fine please cancel my food order and I'll just pay for my hot sake because all this is making me feel very uncomfortable and I don't like the vibe in here please just give me my check. Gentlemen kept coming back to apologized and i told him it wasnt his fault. Manager came a little bit afterwards aaking me why i dont want the soup and its ok its jsut a mix up. I told her i had to go so she gave me the sake on the house i left a $7 tip even though i didnt have to but its the respect and effort the Gentlemen and waiter put into that made me leave a tip. I felt bad telling him that because it was no one's fault but the manager she is not at all professional and needs go learn how to talk and respect her employees and show them the respect that she wants when they talk to her .this will be my last time coming here. . Please learn how to talk to people and stop favoring the clientele everyone should be treated equally . This is my experience and there for i will never...
Read moreLike many others said the atmosphere is amazing. It is quite peaceful and the lighting in store does a great job of creating a luxury ambience. The staff is very friendly and they really do take the time to help you through the menu. Unlike many places where the staff only speaks to you when it’s time to take your order; the staff at Pu Thai acknowledge you from the moment you enter until the time that you leave. Of course that wasn’t the only thing to rave about the food was even more mesmerizing than the customer service. I ordered Mango Curry and Pu was very agreeable when it came to veganizing my orders. There was no fuss around my vegan diet and there were many great selections to choose from. The flavor of the food is honestly better than any Thai place I have ever had. Mind you I am a incurable foodie, and have been to many Thai restaurants, but Pu Thai put them all to shame (even Thai places in Orlando). I’m not sure how they achieve it, but the flavor harmony is something I have not seen at any other restaurant either Thai or not. It seems the chef really knows their way around the kitchen creating flavorful, fresh, well seasoned and very authentic food. If you and your group decide to go try a new place try Pu Thai. You will not regret going there and you probably won’t want to leave without three or four takeout boxes.
Mango Curry description:
The curry is extremely creamy, it’s almost as if all the milk in the world was put in there. The mango was a great complement to the curry and really added savoriness to it. I asked for mild because I can’t really handle very peppery food, but the amount of pepper that was in the dish was just enough to balance out the sweetness of the mango and what might have been the saltiness of the curry. There was tofu in this dish and it was very well done. The tofu was not soggy, but instead slightly crisp on the outside and chewy towards the center all while maintaining some good flavor. I simply cannot overstate the seasoning, even the tofu was well seasoned. That is a rare find normally tofu is unseasoned and bland. Should you decide to go, and you’re not sure what to try the mango curry (vegan or not), and their in house Thai tea(very creamy and strong flavor) would be my recommendation. Thanks...
Read moreI visit this restaurant quite often as they serve my favorite childhood dessert, sticky mango rice. However, after my last two visits, I feel compelled to share my experience.
The last couple of times I dined here, I noticed there was a new server. She is very sweet, clearly still learning the menu, and appears to be unfamiliar with some of the dishes, which is understandable as she seems new to this type of cuisine. During my first visit with her as our server, it was evident that the owner or an older Asian lady in charge was frustrated with her. We could hear how she spoke to the new server, and to be honest, it came across as unnecessarily harsh. We tried to be understanding, but throughout our entire dining experience, the owner continued to be rude to her.
Our second visit was tonight, and we were happy to see the same server was still there, which was a relief as we hoped things might have improved. We were greeted by her, and her kindness was evident once again. However, the owner took our drink and food orders, showing no smiles and rushing through the process.
When our food was delivered, the new server helped by placing a bowl of pho on our table. What happened next left us feeling shocked and uncomfortable—the owner yelled at the server, making it clear that she was displeased with how the dish was served. The new server, remaining graceful, apologized to us and didn’t argue back. Even as they walked away, the owner continued to scold her, saying she should never place a dish on the table without announcing its full name. The yelling was so loud that it was impossible to ignore, even from across the room.
This entire situation turned what could have been a pleasant evening into a sour experience. It was incredibly upsetting to see someone treated so poorly and made to feel humiliated. The server’s efforts and apologies were not only graceful but undeservedly met with rudeness.
I left feeling disgusted by how the new server was treated. This behavior from the owner is unacceptable, and unfortunately, it has made me realize that it might be time to find a new go-to restaurant. No one should have to witness or endure...
