THE FINAL VERDICT IS: DISGUSTING, HORRIBLY GREASY, UNEDIABLE AND UNIDENTIFIABLE FOOD. This was my first visit so the final verdict is yet to be seen. Fried rice, egg rolls and hot/sour soup were good. Crab rangoon was very good. I would not order the orange beef again; it had way too much breading that soaked up all the sauce. It was very mushy and you could not taste the beef. Peking shrimp was fair; large shrimp but too many onions and green peppers. Peking sauce was very weird. I will need to try Chinatown several more times before I give it a final rating. But it was good enough to make me want to go back. The 3 other Chinese restaurants I have tried in NFM were awful: we tossed the food and threw out their menus.
UPDATE: Chinatown has been removed from my list of good Chinese restaurants. After trying this place 3 more times I can say the only things good are their soups, fried rice and crab rangoon. EVERYTHING ELSE IS HORRIBLE! Egg Foo Young is inedible, chicken made us sick, anything breaded is ALL BREADING! Anything battered and fried is soaked full of grease and all batter; fried shrimp the size of my baby finger were battered to be the size of my palm. I have decided that whenever I want Chinese Food I will drive the 30 minutes to LuLu's in Cape Coral as their food is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery unfortunate experience! We have ordered from this establishment many times however our last experience has permanently dissuaded us from returning. We purposely added more food to our bill than we needed because my father-in-law loves the crab ragoon. He went to pick up our order and it came to $44 so he added an extra couple spring rolls to qualify. The total then came to $49.65. The rude cashier replied that he wouldnāt include the crab Rangoon because we hadnāt spent $50. My father-Iām-laws couldnāt believe that a small business would hassle him over 0.35 cents. We ordered an additional pint of rice to exceed the $50. When we arrived home, we realized the portions were small, the extra rice we ordered was missing and the crab Rangoon consisted of a measly handful of soggy, fried dumplings. Needless to say, our business will be taken elsewhere. I highly suggest you stay away as this restaurant doesnāt value its...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food here is TERRIBLE! I honestly don't know if the good reviews are even legit. I ordered General Tso Shrimp which cost a little over $17 with tax and what I got was pre cooked shrimp sure in a huge clump of batter that was raw inside. The shrimp was rubbery and dry on the account it waa already pre cooked and then fried AGAIN in that batter, which should have been crisp was a mushy mess in watery sauce. Also ordered chow mein which should've be crispy noodles and instead for a bunch of onions and leaks in a sauce that resemble dirty bath water and a pack of pre-made noodles , the kind you'd put in wonton soup. Absolutely the WORST Chinese food I've ever had and a complete waste of money as it all went straight...
