I was refused any service considering it was an hour before closing. I was told that I need a reservation after seeing there was only four people eating at the one table and there were three empty tables with silverware and glasses. Nothing said that it was a fine dining restaurant and considering it just looks like a Pizza joint and wine store. ( Response to your comment ) Since I can't respond to your what you said, I'll have to say it here. First of all, I was not rude to her. Second of all, when I googled Italian delis on Google your name popped up in the search. You have a picture of a hoagie which looks good, I would have eaten anything else you had there. If I was given the chance, but said let me ask first. I was planning on getting it to go. So she went in the back to ask you, and then I guess you judged me by my appearance. I don't know what I should wear because it says nothing about a nice jacket, or collar shirt. Second of all you're slandering me by saying I was rude I simply said nothing and walked away. I'm a professional blogger and All of the reviews are done with honesty, and in integrity. I don't do one star reviews. This would be the first. So where you come off saying that you're an Italian restaurant. I've been to many Italian restaurants all over. This is the first restaurant that looks like a pizza shop with racks of wine bottles on the left side that takes up half of your establishment. You sir are not a restaurant. I don't know what kind of restaurants that you have visited, but they don't look anything like this, and you're not professional at all by attacking me. You're very disrespectful. I wouldn't bring my dog to eat here considering the approach of my review. I would rethink what you said because your attitude is completely a narcissistic statement trying to gaslight me. I was not rude to her, and she was not rude to me. I don't know where you came up with that, or the weird vibe statement

My wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I replied I wanted to go to Chef Chris's place and get dinner. It's an eclectic place, bottle shop, deli, bakery and restaurant. I've been in to buy beer and he has the best selection of Tripping Animals stuff around, if you get a chance Chef grab some cans from Pontoon Brewing in Georgia. Grabbed his pizza to go one night on the ride home from the water park. Unbelievablely fresh and tasty ingredients, burned my mouth, shoving hot pizza in, but it was worth it. Finally made it back for dinner and in no way did it disappoint. Calamari app was spicy and superb. Everyone stopped by to wish me a Happy Birthday, which was a nice touch. On one of his stops by the table, I complimented the pastry stout he had on draft. We chatted about beer for a bit, he later came by with a Belgian Stout out of his own personal stash. A very interesting beer with a fruity wooded flavor and a very kind gesture. The entrees were fantastic but I have to comment on the house salad. By far the best house salad I've had at any restaurant, really wasn't expecting that. We'll definitely be back, even with the long drive. His wife, daughter and server were all top notch and made for a great evening. Thanks again!

Make a reservation . . . Unless you're willing to just get lucky, like we did. Great reviews led us to show up hoping for some good food. Boy, were we in for a treat! Chef let us grab a table before a later-scheduled reservation and proceeded to delight us with his creations. First, the atmosphere is more retail, casual, and functional than cozy, romantic, or upscale (although there were cloth tablecloths and napkins!). And, since they have a retail wine business, it's quite cool - to preserve the wines. But all that faded when the food arrived. Chef was great. Service was top notch, professional and personable. Wonderful wine recommendations. We opted for a bottle and enjoyed it immensely. Bread was the perfect mix of crispy on the outside with a chewy interior. Lobster bisque was delicious and my salad was one of the best ever - those tomatoes were the BOMB! Truffle and ragù pastas were really fantastic. Truffle flavor not too overpowering, ragù Bolognese perfectly balanced. The added ricotta was a great addition. Large portions meant we were able to bring something home to enjoy the next day. Would be so happy to return!! I shared pics of the menu only for reference - it does change so don't rely on it.

I rarely take the time to write google reviews.

Chef Chris frequently posts on the business’ facebook page regarding cancelled reservations and the economy’s impact, asking patrons to consider dining at his establishment. After several months of reading posts like this, my husband made a comment yesterday suggesting that the lack of business was due to other factors.

Instead of addressing or responding, Chef Chris deleted my husband’s comment and blocked him from the business Facebook page. So I am sharing our experience here.

We started dining at Quality Foods Market almost two years ago. We really enjoyed the food, so much so that we had them cater our wedding in April 2024. We also regularly brought friends and family. The first incident occurred when we brought in our friends to have dinner with us. They’re an older couple, of Italian descent. They drove from Spring Hill to meet us based on our recommendation of Quality Foods Market. We were excited to have them try the food.

When our friends asked if some traditionally offered dishes were available on the menu, Chef Chris’ response was that this was not authentic Italian food. The response was very condescending. I wish that was the only incident that evening. Our friend then asked for some customizations (I believe it was pepper) for her salad. Chef Chris was clearly very offended by this. He first tried to explain to her that he created the perfect dressing and customizations for the salad the way it is, trying to decline her request. After she politely asked again for pepper, he offered what she requested storming back and forth and throwing her salad plate on the table. We left absolutely mortified.

After this evening, I still wanted to give Quality Foods Market another chance. I placed a to go order and communicated with the restaurant who let me know it would be ready at 2:30pm. I arrived at that time, and sat and waited for 30 minutes past that time. That was fine, I understand that restaurants get behind. Unfortunately, after this wait time, Chris Chris asked me to stand up from the chair I was waiting in as he had guests. I was visibly 8 months pregnant. When I arrived home, the order was wrong. I messaged the restaurant but it was too late for me to go back and get the right thing, being that pregnant and already having waited that long.

Quality foods market has good food, but so do many other restaurants in the area. I would strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Ps. I have receipts for each of...

I found this place after reading good reviews about it, and thought the best way to pay forward was to add my own review so others are able to find this absolute gem.

Dining at Quality Foods Market is an experience, be ready for a wonderful ride. The name and some of the pictures from the outside may have you wondering whether this is the right place for having that special night out. Rest assured, you are in the right place.

Location is unassuming and somewhat unexpected for such a fine dining experience, but this just adds to the magic. Only 4 indoor tables were available, so it is intimate and personal.

Service is out of this world, right from the start. I made an online reservation which I had to change, and a phone call got me all I wanted. Our waitress was spot on, informative and helpful, and she walked by us through our whole dinner. Chef Chris offered personal care of each one of us, answering our questions, telling us about the food he was putting together for us, and we had multiple visits from him throughout the night.

And of course, the food. Truly Italian fare, top to bottom. The menu was to the point, varied but select, offering options for different palates and diets without going overboard. Each dish we tried was a feast. We tried the snails, calamari, scallops, porchetta special, and different pastas. We tried and loved everything, but my personal favorite was the seemingly simple caprese salad. Chef Chris mentioned all his ingredients were fresh, brought from Italy or locally grown. The mozzarella cheese melted in the mouth, the tomatoes made me rethink whether I had ever known what tomatoes are supposed to taste like, and the basil was incredibly fragrant. Then this was topped by the best balsamic I have ever tasted. And this was just my side dish.

If you want to experience fine dining at its best, and enjoy true Italian cuisine, you need to try this place. It's the absolute best hidden cuisine gem in the...
