If you find yourself wandering through Punta Gorda, FL, with an empty stomach and a craving for good vibes, look no further than Ryan’s Bar and Grill. But let me tell you, what really makes Ryan’s a local treasure isn’t just the food or the drinks—it’s two absolute legends behind the counter: Courtney and Taylor. These women don’t just work here; they run the joint with the kind of precision and personality that makes you wonder if they secretly have superpowers. (If they do, I suspect their powers involve reading minds—because how else do they always get your order exactly right?)
First off, let’s talk order accuracy. You know that awkward moment when you’ve carefully explained to a server that you want no onions, extra pickles, and your fries well done—but when the food arrives, you’re suddenly swimming in onions and soggy fries? Not at Ryan’s. Courtney and Taylor have the kind of accuracy that would make a sniper jealous. You could order a burger with a laundry list of modifications, and they’ll deliver it like a well-choreographed ballet. No mistakes, no “sorry, we ran out,” just perfectly executed orders every single time. It’s so reliable that I’m convinced they must be using telepathy—or maybe they just really, really listen.
Speaking of listening, their customer service is next level. Courtney and Taylor don’t just serve food—they serve up smiles, good vibes, and enough friendliness to make you wonder if you just walked into Cheers (yes, everyone knows your name here!). They manage to be personable without being clingy, attentive without hovering, and friendly without turning your dinner into a therapy session (unless you want that, in which case, they’d totally be down). They’re the kind of people who remember your favorite drink, your dog’s name, and probably the exact date of your last dentist appointment—all while balancing trays of wings and pouring drinks like pros.
And now, let’s talk wings—because Ryan’s wings deserve a standing ovation. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the wings specials are so good they could probably solve world peace if given the chance. They’re perfectly crispy, juicy, and loaded with flavor that makes your taste buds want to throw a party. Whether you like them spicy enough to make you sweat like you just ran a marathon or mild enough to sneak them past your kid without a fuss, these wings have you covered. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve returned just for those two days, wings in hand, feeling like I struck gold.
But don’t get too comfortable planning your week just around wings night. Ryan’s has specials every single day, so there’s always something worth trying. Monday might bring burger madness, Wednesday could feature seafood that tastes like it swam straight from the ocean to your plate, and Friday might just surprise you with something delightfully unexpected. It’s like a little gift every day, wrapped in napkins and delivered with a smile. If you’re the kind of person who loves variety and a good deal, Ryan’s weekly specials menu will quickly become your best friend.
What really ties it all together, though, is the staff. And when I say staff, I mean every single person—from the bartenders mixing drinks with flair, to the kitchen crew churning out deliciousness like a well-oiled machine, to the hosts greeting you like long-lost family. Everyone here is truly top shelf. It’s rare to find a team that works so seamlessly and genuinely seems to enjoy what they do. This isn’t just a job for them; it’s a passion, and it shows in every interaction. The whole place buzzes with positive energy, making you forget about your troubles and just enjoy the moment.
So, here’s the bottom line: Ryan’s Bar and Grill is the kind of place you don’t just visit—you experience it. Ryan's has the the dream team making it all happen. Accurate orders, stellar customer service, and personalities so bright they could probably light up the entire Florida coast. Don’t miss the wings specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays—they’re worth a...
Read moreMy husband and I were so excited to try out Ryan’s place after moving just minutes away. We walked in and were pleased with the relaxed vibe and waited for our waitress to come to us.
After about 10-15 minutes of waiting, she finally came and brought menus and took our drink order. We needed some time to review the menu so we asked her to come back to take our order.
From that moment on things went south. We received our order and our waitress immediately came back with our check. She did not ask us if we needed anything or how to food was. She literally left the check in our basket and walked away. It was especially funny because we ordered an all you can eat item, and I’m not sure how to order more if you are rushing to get us out. After waiting 10 minutes longer for silverware, we had to wave our waitress down for her to even look at us. She avoided our table at all costs. We managed to get a refill and silverware, but the attitude in which she gave it to us was so apparent.
We looked around the restaurant to see if any other tables had their checks as they were eating and such little service, but it seemed to be just us. I would hope this has nothing to do with the fact that we look nothing like the other clientele, as the majority of the clients were retired aged white-Americans and we are young Latinos. We felt like second class people just being rushed out of the establishment with horrible service.
As for the food, it was extremely greasy and heavily breaded. We ordered the all you can eat fish and some wings. The fish was greasy and the wings seemed a tad undercooked. We dared not say anything to our waitress about the food, not that she gave us a chance to, in fear that our food might be spat or something.
I contemplated calling over a manager or speaking directly to the waitress, but being that I’m almost 8 months pregnant, I chose not to fight a battle that was not worth the fight and didn’t want to stress myself and my baby over this horrible experience.
I write this review so that management can hopefully see this and be aware of this issue and so that others, like us, will consider if we are welcomed in such places. It saddens me to write this because we wanted so badly to have a place to frequent, but we will...
Read moreI recently ordered a takeout pizza from Ryan's Sports Grill, and I have to say, it was an incredibly disappointing experience from start to finish. I regretfully report that I will not be returning to this establishment based on my recent encounter.
Upon picking up the pizza and getting home, my disappointment began. The pizza was literally dripping with oil, and I had to use multiple paper towels to soak up the excessive grease. It was an unappetizing sight and immediately raised concerns about the quality of the pizza.
Sadly, the disappointment did not stop there. The taste of the pizza was far from enjoyable. It seemed like a big glob of oily cheese with minimal flavor. After a few bites, I simply couldn't continue eating it as it left my taste buds unsatisfied and my stomach feeling uneasy. It was disheartening to waste a $20 pizza, but the subpar taste and excessive oiliness left me with no other choice but to discard the entire pie.
The lack of quality control in the preparation of the pizza was evident, and it was clear that attention to detail was lacking. I expected a delicious and satisfying pizza, but unfortunately, Ryan's Sports Grill failed to deliver on both fronts.
As a customer, it is disheartening to have such a negative experience, especially when it comes to a basic menu item like pizza. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving the quality of their food and ensuring better customer experiences.
I cannot recommend Ryan's Sports Grill based on my recent encounter. If you're craving a tasty pizza, I suggest looking elsewhere for a more satisfying and enjoyable...
