Last week, I was in charge of ordering and bringing lunch for 35 teenagers to an event at the Courthouse. I reached out to Silver Ring since they are nearby to figure out my options. They were fantastic at customizing the sandwich platters to fit my needs. The food was a BIG hit! The teens had seconds and the adults who joined us at lunch were shocked at how fresh and delicious the sandwiches were. Everyone had to know where we had bought them so I encouraged them to visit the Riverview store! A volunteer (retired lady) who had grown up in Ybor City was so excited to hear they were from Silver Ring. She said that when she was a teen her dad would buy her a Cuban from Silver Ring to take to school for lunch. I was delighted that the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association was supporting a small business with ties to Ybor City. The next time you need to feed a crowd, I highly recommend you skip the chains or grocery store subs and order your sandwich trays from Silver Ring...
Read moreMy first visit to Silver Ring Cafe was on 5/2/20. I called in to place my order of 3 Cuban sandwiches, 2 deviled crabs and 2 stuffed potatoes. My order was ready in 10 minutes, which is exactly what I was told on the phone. I went inside to pick up my order and I immediately noticed how busy they were with preparing orders and taking orders over the phone. The staff was friendly, efficient and I didn't have to wait to pay and pick up my order. The restaurant was clean and not cluttered. When we got home we ate our food and was very impressed! Our pressed Cubans were made exactly how we ordered them and they tasted great! I could only eat half of mine and saved the other half for the next day. The deviled crab was also tasty and I was pleasantly surprised by the tangy, garlic flavored heat of the included hot sauce in little plastic containers. Based on my experience I would highly recommend Silver Ring Cafe to friends and family! I can't...
Read moreBeen in Tampa my entire adult life. The reviews of this cuban sandwich befuddle me. It's no where near the best or remotely in any top 10 anything. It's a gas station Cuban sandwich. It's all ham, the ham isn't very good quality. There's barely any pork and what there is, is deli meat style flavorless sliced pork. The pickles aren't that good either. I though maybe they used Tampa's famous La Segunda bread, that would explain why the rest gets a pass but it's not La Segunda. Two stars because it wasn't awful, and the price isn't outrageous, but you get what you pay for. Besides the sandwich I absolutely HATE being pressured to tip when tips aren't even applicable, such as picking up my own food to avoid these types of fees. The cashier runs my card hands me the tablet to sign and says "it's going to ask you if you want to tip" while 5 workers stand there. I was in the restaurant for maybe 30 seconds, swiped a card at the counter and left......
