First time eating at Southeast Eatery and it did not disappoint. We were looking for a breakfast spot before we left for home from Legoland. We pulled up and the parking lot was filled. We had a party of 5 and within minutes we were seated. Melissa was our server she was friendly and accomadating from start to finish. My son ordered the chocolate short stack and 2 giant pancakes cooked perfectly with loads of chocolate chips came to the table. My wife , mother-inlaw and daughter ordered the nutella stuffed french toast and we were all blown away. The outside of the French toast was golden brown and the inside was creamy and warm with nutella just ozzing out of it. Top with fresh house whipped cream it was some of the best French toast we ever had. I had a Greek breakfast burrito, the eggs were cooked to perfection and it was stuffed with spinach, tomatoes, feta and teziky it came with crispy home fries. This a place where all the locals eat and there is a good reason for that. So when you are up in Winter Haven Florida do not miss...
Read moreThis has been the go to breakfast spot for my boyfriend and I for the past year since we moved from New Jersey. We come every Sunday after church and whenever we do there is always a little wait but the food makes it well worth it. With the exception of my experience today that has left a bad taste in our mouth and we won't be back. We were waiting in line to be seated for about 10 minutes and a group that just arrived were seated before us. An older man in their group went in front of my boyfriend and asked to be seated and they sat his party before us. It happened so fast we didn't know how to react, we were seated shortly after but our experience was ruined by how we were just blantly disregarded and disrespected. On top of everything they got my order wrong for the first time since we've been coming there and my boyfriend's coffee mug had lipstick on it. Very disappointed in today's service. Will have to find a new breakfast spot that is hopefully...
Read moreI was in the area for other business & walked over to buy water(not soda, as I am diabetic). I was treated as though I were a vagrant looking for free handouts & told to walk down the street if I wanted water. I even called my husband to ask if I looked homeless or especially bad that day since I was being spoken to as though I were trash. I never asked for free anything, I just don't drink soda & was thirsty. She did finally agree to let me have water if I paid for a soda. That will be the last $4 they get from me. My husband is now @ starbucks picking up my breakfast, so money was never an issue. And my husband is a food blogger, which means we eat out all the time, all over the U S. I really could not believe how poorly I was talked down to & treated. I will never know what their food is like, since their service is so deplorable! my husband never leaves negative reviews, which says a lot about how truly awful this...
