TL;DR great ambiance, creative options, lots of specials and deals, fun themed nights throughout the week, lots of entertainment to be had in the shop. Some things could be a little better but they've got a great attitude, great options, and a really great name (more important than most ppl think).
I really love how many options there are here for enjoying your puffle pastries and teas. There's so much entertainment and comfort with all the board games, the TV, the music, the karaoke and open mic nights and themed parties. Or if you just want to chill then just pop a squat on any one of the big, comfy couches in there. I had a very berry puffle and wow that was incredible. The berries and the ice cream mixed was a bit sweet but still delicious. It's rare that a pastry soaking through can have it's texture improved as you eat it but the cold ice cream make the berries more firm as you eat. Neat! The manager is just the right amount of customer service and common sense in that he's welcoming, friendly but these customers tried to rush him to take their order but he was still helping our group and said as much politely. The puffle pastries are extremely sweet and that might lead to a lot less returning customers for the sweet puffles. Maybe hold the ice cream on the sweet ones and replace it with something else with less than half the sugar. The black, jasmine, oolong, and earl grey teas are outstanding but the milk teas are sub par. Powder teas are easier to recognize after having sipped from a brewed tea. I understand there aren't many boba places in the area but if more come, powder boba teas won't cut it for much longer. Nearly every boba tea establishment that used powder teas in the LA basin have gone out of business since more came around. It does seem to take a bit of a long time to make things. Perhaps an organization issue behind the counter or just the process hasn't been simplified enough for one person to handle multiple groups of customers swiftly. I can appreciate that the owner is young and driven, making the most of the business here for the customers but a restructuring of the process or hiring more ppl or coming in herself to help through busy lulls would be more ideal. I know overhead costs are probably high but it won't get better if people wait exorbitant lengths of time for simple orders. Also, we got 2 puffles and 2 bobas, the $12 deal twice, and then took a picture in there and posted it online with all the hashtags that were on the site showing it to the manager but the total was still $25 and change when there was supposed to be a 20% discount on it. Not a big deal to me but attention to detail especially with saving customers money on highly promoted deals is a big deal for a business to thrive. But it was an honest mistake because the manager was so busy.
Overall, it's a great place for a hang. Fun but chill. Lots of options and deals (if they're remembered to be applied to the final bill). The pastries and brewed teas are pretty great but the milk teas are powdered and just will never taste right no matter how many times you tell a customer to come back and let you try again. The actual boba was a little tough both times on different days but still really good. There's room for improvement that must be addressed now before more boba places open around the area starting off doing everything right but it's still decent and I really...
Read moreI went to Teas Days during the first week it has been under new management, and I was highly impressed. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte boba tea and the tocino spam musubi bowl, which were both absolutely delicious. The tea was a beautiful blend of sweet and savory, with the strawberry and matcha complementing each other perfectly; while the musubi bowl was superbly seasoned, not too salty but flavorful (highly recommend, as I went for seconds!).
The atmosphere of the shop is also to be admired. It exudes a cozy, homey vibe; making it an ideal place for you to hang out with some friends or settle down and read a good book. To facilitate both, there are comfy couches and shelves with games and books free for all to use. There is even a stage and mic, which the owner Marina states will be used for future events, like open-mics and karaoke.
The new Teas Days has immense potential to be next go-to place for family and friends to relax and have fun, all while enjoying mouth-watering boba tea and street food. I highly recommend giving Teas Days a visit, along with their Stardust Cafe food market stands (Thursday at Englewood, and Saturday at Venice). You will not be...
Read moreTwo stars only because the employees were nice, otherwise- this was hands down the worst bubble tea we have ever had. It was like a snow cone more than anything. We are from out of town and searched for a nearby bubble tea joint. When we came in, there was a standup comedy show going on, it seemed like a really cool event with some chill folks, but I think because the employee making the drinks didn’t want to make noise (she only blended briefly during laughter and applause) we got 2 hardly drinkable drinks for nearly $20 after tip. Glad to see local events like this but a bummer that our drink order suffered. Needless to say we won’t be back, they should really rethink their motto “the best boba” as this was not even mediocre- it was awful. Also- the matcha flavor wasn’t sweetened which was strange for a bubble tea, very bland, watered down and bitter and we get matcha flavor...
